Who Cares Guide to France v Peru World Cup Action

Welcome to the Who Cares Guide to France v Peru World Cup Action. The Gurgler’s quick and easy guide for the second match of the group C, and depending on the earlier result could well finish off the progression from the group with a game to spare..

If you have visited us before, you’ll know for all of the Group Stage matches we have gone to the minimal of effort, so you can go to even less to keep up to date. We hope that has worked out for you.

With the next round of Group stage matches kicking off, why would we change the format.

We throw in some barely interesting stats that you impress the many people in your life at work, home, or in some form of Yellow Submarine.

So time to get into the second round of fixtures with a look forward to the France v Peru World Cup Action.

When is it? (AEST)

Friday July 22 at 1am

How Should I Watch It?

Should I Stay Up? (Must watch and Stay Up),
Get Up? (Gotta watch live with pre sleep),
Wake Up? (Record and Wake up Normal Time), or
Catch Up? (Check the Score and the Group table and move on)

Stay up – this should be a really good game on paper, and it is only a Friday coming up, so avoid the pub lunch and power nap your way through Friday.

The story…

France got three points against Australia but arguably were lucky to do so. A VAR given penalty that pre technology would have been waived away a few would argue, and a wicked deflection got them home in the end. They certainly didn’t finish like they started where they peppered the Australian Goal with shot after shot requiring Mat Ryan into some of his finest work. Peru on the other hand lost, but were impressive. They profited from another VAR intervention, but unlike the French Peru’s Christian Cuerva smashed the ball well over the top for a miss. Pity he was excellent, as was the high tempo of the Peruvians, a rarity at a World Cup sometimes. Peru can win this game as the French barely handled the tough Australians, so what can they do against the speedy South Americans.

Group C PL W D L GF – GA PTS

Denmark 1 1 0 0 1 – 0 3
Australia 1 0 0 1 1 – 2 0
Peru 1 0 0 1 0 – 1 0

France 2 Australia 1
Denmark 1 Peru 0

France v Denmark

Players to Watch

Pablo Guerrero – only came on as a sub himself against Denmark, but hopefully gets start in the must win game for Peru.

Olivier Giroud – France look better when he is brought on, so watch for the second half substitution.

Our Bold Prediction…what we think will happen….

Peru 2-1

What will probably happen….

Peru will try very hard, but the class of France will pinch a goal late.

The French got lucky
Peru need to win right now
Still have the best shirt.

Bluff your way to World Cup expertise

Peru are looking for their first win at a World Cup since 1978. Doesn’t help you haven’t been at a World Cup since 1982. France scored the third lowest goals for per game in Qualifying of any European team despite having Luxembourg in their pool.

IF the teams were cars they’d be….

France – some kind of Peugeot

Peru – some kind of motorbike
