The voting has closed, and the Unsung Hero of the Month for March, is a man who is involved with more songs than most – Peter Dasent aka The Play School Piano Guy.
There is hardly another person in the Australian entertainment industry that deserves recognition than the man tinkling the ivories for the many, many children’s classics. With the possible exception of Jimmy Giggle who has to spend most of his working days talking to a myriad of puppets.
Another quality field for the Unsung Hero of the Month, the Play School Piano Guy has beaten Pablo Larrazabal, the golfer who still hit an impressive first round score in the Indian Open despite waking up 38 minutes before tee off.
Further back was Matt Renshaw, who is getting some reward for taking his axing on the chin and going back to the Sheffield Shield. Although someone argued in a delightful meme that none of the Ball Tampering would have happen if the Queensland opener wasn’t dropped in the first place. They’d be right too.
Two football teams got nominated, but are not winners this time, but are still winner in our eyes, Burnley EPL side and Wests Tigers.
But for March and the Hero of the Month award, it is all about the man behind the music on Play School.
And we salute Mr Play School Piano Guy aka Peter Dasent as the February 2018 Unsung Hero of the Month. May his wheels on his bus keep on going round and round.
