- The last team to win a Grand Final as the team who finished lower on the ladder during the regular season was the last Penrith-Melbourne GF in 2020. Melbourne finished 2nd to Penrith that season.
- Penrith were the last team to win the Grand Final despite having the worse H2H record during the regular season (in 2022).
- The last five Premiers have averaged 25 points or more during the regular season. Melbourne averaged 29.9 points per game this season compared to Penrith’s 24.5.
- The last seven Premiers have averaged less than 15 points per game against in the regular season. Neither team have managed that this season but Penrith’s 15.8 is better than Melbourne’s 18.4.

- Melbourne have won eight straight games v Sydney sides, as the designated home side, on a Sunday.
- Penrith have won only one of their three games on a Sunday this season v non-NSW sides. Their only win was a golden point win over the Dolphins.
