An anticipated marathon of a classic animated sitcom has been cut short.
Adam and his mates were looking forward to spending Saturday night watching a Family Guy marathon – a show that they hadn’t watched since the early 2000s.
“I used to love this show when it started and the boys and I figured it was about time to break out the beers, order a few pizzas, and give it a rewatch, with episodes chosen at random,” said Adam.
But it quickly became clear why they hadn’t watched the show in so long.
“The first episode was full of random cut-away gags and shoehorned 1980s pop culture references. We got through that one, but when the second one had the exact same thing we decided to scrap it. We get it Family Guy writers, you loved the 1980s, move on!”
After abandoning the marathon, the boys watched the Melbourne vs Cronulla-Sutherland NRL game on Kayo before a Simpsons Movie/South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut double feature.
“Family Guy being so garbage actually worked out well. It was a brilliant footy game and the two movies cheered everyone up. The Simpsons one was decent, but the South Park was excellent!” said Adam, “I’d forgotten how funny it was and the songs were brilliant.”
