The Canberra Raiders have announced their latest signing, but it’s not who you think.
After pissing off Professional Gutter Muppet Piers Morgan with their ‘Bairstow’ try celebration, Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has decided to sink the boot in with a special recruit.
“For our Round 21 game against the Warriors, I’m going to be playing Meghan Markle on the bench,” said Stuart “All she has to do it wear a Raiders jersey and sit on the bench while our social media team sits on Twitter and waits for Piers to explode with rage. She’ll play even less minutes that Nick Cotric does.”
Piers has a famous feud with the former Suits actor, taking regular shots at her in the media and once walking off the set of Good Morning Britain during a segment about her.
The Warriors are happy to go along with the stunt, with coach Andrew Webster eager to needle Pierce even further. “It’s a genius idea from Ricky and I hope Piers completely loses his mind! It’ll be hillarious.”
