GURGLERBET | 2023 US Open Golf Betting, Ashes 2023 & Weekend Sporting Highlights – 16 June 2023

Welcome to the GurglerBet Weekend Betting & Sporting Highlights for the big Easter weekend ahead, featuring Ashes Cricket, US Open Golf, Canadian Grand Prix and NRL Betting and much more.

GurglerBet is the Official Betting Partner of The Gurgler website, and it does betting differently.

First of all GurglerBet is the Home of the Fifty Cent bet. That’s not a minimum limit, but the only betting unit. Making responsible betting at the heart of their wagering.

GurglerBet also offer markets that no one can or dares to offer. Either weekly specials or long standing offers to customers.

But it’s not just all betting, there’s a weekend of sporting action that awaits with our thoughts, and in partnership with our big GurglerBet – Home of the Fifty Cent Bet.

Note: GurglerBet is also not actually a betting company in case you were wondering how to put a bet on.

THE GURGLERBET WEEKEND SPORTING HIGHLIGHTS

Here are the GurglerBet choice sporting events for the weekend ahead that you should probably tune into, and a special betting offer from each that you probably won’t find anywhere else.

Ashes First Test

FRIDAY TO TUESDAY (HOPEFULLY)

The Ashes is here, the best cricket series to watch given the level of competition between the two sides, the history, and the fact that Australia can’t bully the opposition as much in England. Like Australia in India, it’s fact that they struggle which makes it more enjoyable to watch.

The big questions heading into the first test is whether great Australian hero, and key player from the Test World Championship will play at all – Scott Boland. The selectors iven the tough job of which fast bowler to drop.

But perhaps a left field idea. Given the struggles of Usman Kwawaja and David Warner as openers, why not drop one of them, open with Marnus so he can’t fall asleep, and play four fast bowlers plus Nathan Lyon.

Also, and as ever, some focus will be on David Warner, so we will see if it is a run fest on the field or a punch fest off it.

US Open Golf

ALL WEEKEND FROM THURSDAY (US)

OK, so it’s only golf. And not even the US Masters, and will likely be played on a course way too hard for decent scores, but it is still a major, and a major sporting event for this weekend.

Then there’s the added spice of the first big shoot out since the breakaway LIV golf circus was announced to be re-joining the official tours. This should bring a little more Greg Norman than usual, which is good, since he can’t rely on current ranking or exemption to play in the tournament.

Golf hasn’t been the same since Miguel Angle Jiminez stopped featuring in Majors.

While we have no doubt we’ll barely recognise the Round One and Two leaders, and vaguely recall the name of the eventual winner, it still won’t stop us watching, given it is solid early morning filler, and a way of avoiding the breakfast news 30 minute cycle.

Below are GurglerBet’s best options for the weekend, noting that GurglerBet try and offer markets that no one does.

Note: all odds above are fake – GurglerBet is not really a betting company.

F1 – CANADIAN GRAND PRIX

FROM THURSDAY

Despite the horrible timeslot of 4am in Australia, it is usually a race that provides plenty of action and is worth the early rise, or later catch-up bludging while claiming to be “working from home”.

It is a track set on roads within an island in the middle of the main river in Montreal, and the close barriers and fast nature usually brings maximum punishment for over ambition.

One of those walls is the Wall of Champions, the wall on the outside of the final chicane which has tripped up many over the years, including a bunch of former World Champions.

For the record we say Alonso will pull a win out the hat this weekend, after Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton qualify first and secnd and wipe each other out at the first and second corners.

NRL

FROM THURSDAY

It really shouldn’t be a weekend highlight – an Origin interrupted five game offering. With the depleted Cowboys playing the depleted Panthers first up on Friday setting the tone.

Once the NRL realise that Origin is best over three weekends and giving the NRL competition a rest for three weeks it will be good. Until then it’s injuries and half-arsed rounds.

At least they kept the Super Saturday line up of three games. The highlight game of the weekend being the second of those three with Parramatta v Manly, both sides missing their star halfback.

FOOTBALL – INTERNATIONALS

ALL WEEKEND

The endless Football scheduling continues as the International games kick off leading into the European Championships next year.

While is always good to be able to bet on Luxembourg and the Faroe Islands, is really has reached saturation levels for interest in football.

So GurglerBet can’t be bothered coming up with too many specials except for the standard VAR one below.

THE GURGLERBET DRAW OF THE WEEK

Just because a game is tied doesn’t mean it is boring or you can’t make money from it. Well, it can still be boring in the greater context of the actual game being played, but not the tension that hanging on to a 0-0 for your bet gets you.

We get our leading draw expert and host of the podcast that focuses only on draws in football and the related betting – Frankely Speaking. Frankington Stanley has scoured the many football divisions from all over the world to provide his best draw option for you.

This week Frank supplies a two-for-one special.

MOROCCAN FIRST DIVISION

DHJ El Jadida – $2.30
DRAW – $2.80
Moulodia dOujda- $3.00

Odds courtesy of Sportsbet as GurglerBet isn’t a betting company.

Olympic Safi  – $2.62
DRAW – $2.80
FUS Rabat – $2.60

Odds courtesy of Sportsbet as GurglerBet isn’t a betting company.

SUMMARY

Fur of the last six clashes between DHJ El Jadida and Moulodia dOujda have ended in a draw. And Olympic Safi have drawn four of their last five at home, and the away form of FUS Rabat is patchy, so they will probably settle for a draw.

We can smell a daily double here.

So bet early and bet often and don’t be scared to draw.
