SATURDAY 12:30 MAY 20 – SPURS v BRENTFORD
Brentford haven’t beaten Spurs since 1948, and never at Tottenham. Although the last two games have been draws. Spurs have the slightly better record this season v London clubs of the two sides with Spurs’ W6 D3 L2 nudging Brentford’s W4 D5 L2. Brentford average 1.4 competition points per game away to the big six this season which is second best. Brighton’s 1.67 is best.
OUR PREDICTION
Spurs 1 Brentford 1
SATURDAY 15:00 MAY 20 – WOLVES v EVERTON
Wolves have won three straight v Everton. Wolves and Southampton are the only teams to lose two home matches this season v bottom six clubs (at time of fixture). Everton are the only side not to win at least one game v midlands teams this season.
OUR PREDICTION
Wolves 1 Everton 0
SATURDAY 15:00 MAY 20 – BOURNEMOUTH v MAN UTD
Man Utd have played the fewest Saturday games this season. The only side under ten games.
OUR PREDICTION
Bournemouth 0 Man Utd 2
SATURDAY 15:00 MAY 20 – FULHAM v CRYSTAL PALACE
Crystal Palace have won the last two games at Fulham and the last three games on a Saturday at any venue. Fulham have the better record of these sides this season for games v London opposition. Won more games, scored more goals, conceded fewer.
OUR PREDICTION
Fulham 1 Crystal Palace 1
SATURDAY 15:00 MAY 20 – LIVERPOOL v ASTON VILLA
Liverpool have won four games in a row v Aston Villa and four games in a row at home. Plus five games in a row on a Saturday. Only five teams have won two games or more this season against the big six away from home. Brighton lead on three, and Aston Villa are one of the others. Only two of the five are fellow big six clubs.
OUR PREDICTION
Liverpool 2 Aston Villa 0
SATURDAY 17:30 MAY 20 – NOTTINGHAM FOREST v ARSENAL
The last four games in all competitions have gone to the home side – two wins for each. Arsenal’s record away to bottom six teams this season is W4 D2 L1. Nottingham Forest’s record against top six sides this season is D1 L4.
OUR PREDICTION
Nottingham Forest 1 Arsenal 1
SUNDAY 13:30 MAY 21 – WEST HAM v LEEDS
Leeds have lost all six away trips to London sides this season. West Ham have won just one of their last nine home games v Leeds. And only one of six Sunday games v Leeds. West Ham have played the second most Sunday games this season with 16. Their Sunday record of W5 D3 L8 is better than Leeds United’s W1 D2 L7.
OUR PREDICTION
West Ham 2 Leeds 1
SUNDAY 14:00 MAY 21 – BRIGHTON v SOUTHAMPTON
Southampton and Wolves are the only teams to not win on a Sunday this season. Southampton appear to be a bit of a bogey team for Brighton at home. The Seagulls have only won one of their last 14 games at home, which includes nine losses.
OUR PREDICTION
Brighton 4 Southampton 1
SUNDAY 16:30 MAY 21 – MAN CITY v CHELSEA
Man City are unbeaten in their last five games at home v Chelsea on a Sunday (W4 D1). Man City and Man Utd are the only teams with a 100% record at home to the big six. Chelsea D1 L2 haven’t won away v big six.
OUR PREDICTION
Man City 3 Chelsea 0
MONDAY 20:00 MAY 22 – NEWCASTLE v LEICESTER
No team has played more games against top six sides this season than Leicester (based on position of opponents at time of match). Which is a good thing as they have only won once and drawn once in 14 matches. And lost all seven away games. Newcastle (W8 D5) are one of only four teams not to lose v bottom six sides this season. Bournemouth, Spurs and Man City are the others.
OUR PREDICTION
Newcastle 4 Leicester 1
WEDNESDAY 20:00 MAY 24 – BRIGHTON v MAN CITY
Brighton are undefeated against Man City at home in midweek – W1 D1 from the two games. Brighton have the third highest average points per game v big six teams this season. Man City are the only team with a 100% record for midweek games this season (Tue, Wed, Thu).
OUR PREDICTION
Brighton 1 Man City 1
THURSDAY 20:00 MAY 25 – MAN UTD v CHELSEA
The last five games between Chelsea and Man Utd have ended in a draw. The last three have been 1-1. Man Utd have only won one of their last five midweek home games v Chelsea and two of their last 14.
OUR PREDICTION
