The 2023 NRL Season rolls on, and so does our stat-filled preview of the upcoming weekend of rugby league with our 2023 NRL Round 11 Tips Stats Preview + Alternative Tips.

Each week we offer up a quick preview glance for each match, a bunch of barely interesting stats, probably more than one could ever need or want.

We also offer up some alternative tips. These alternative tips are often based on a rugby league stat, and sometimes something completely absurd, and are aimed at those NRL tipsters who just can’t be bothered.

With all the fun of Magic Round we wondered if there is a hangover. As in, does one team go better the next week? Or is there a team that stinks.

So we figure a team that goes better the weekend after Magic Round the last three occasions will go better this weekend.

Although, there were a few draws, so the rule of thumb and other fingers was the home side gets the tip.

2023 NRL Round 11 Barely Interesting Stats Summary

Here we take the best points of interest for each match coming up this weekend, and share them with you for no cost. Feel free to share with friends and family.

Melbourne have never been beaten on a Thursday at home in 15 games.

The last two games at AAMI Park on a Thursday have ended 22-8 to Melbourne.

Brisbane have never beaten Melbourne on a Thursday home or away (four matches).

Warriors have won five straight against the Bulldogs.

Bulldogs have won just one of their last 13 Friday games.

Penrith have won 13 of their last 14 home games on a Friday v Sydney clubs. Roosters have lost their last nine away games on a Friday v Sydney teams.

Penrith have beaten the Roosters six times in a row. The Roosters’ last win pre-dates Covid.

Roosters have lost all three games in the weekend following Magic Round.

South Sydney have won 14 straight home games on a Saturday.

South Sydney have won 23 of their last 26 matches on a Saturday.

Souths have won 11 straight Saturday games at the Olympic Stadium.

Wests Tigers have lost eight straight at the Olympic Stadium.

Prior to beating an understrength Penrith in the final round of 2022, the Cowboys had lost nine straight against Sydney teams at home on a Saturday.

St George Illawarra have won just once in their last 16 games in Queensland.

Parramatta have won five of the past six games v Canberra and the last three on a Saturday.

Canberra can equal the 2023 post-bye winning streak (3) with a win on Saturday. Canberra have averaged 33 points per game post-bye vs 17 pre-bye.

The home side have won the last 11 games straight between Newcastle and Gold Coast at any ground.

Newcastle have lost seven of their last eight v Qld sides.

Gold Coast have lost five of their last six away games on a Sunday.

Manly have won 7/9 home games on a Sunday v Cronulla. But not the last one.

Going back to 2016, Cronulla have won 20 of their last 24 away games on a Sunday.
