Another great weekend of NRL action it was. Star performances, hard working players giving it their all, and loads of late tries. But which players were the best of the best? We try and make the stats do the talking, and separate the Wheat/Chaff to present the NRL Round 3 Team of the Week explain.
We have taken some of the key stats and assign various scoring methods, all in the good intention of making the various types of stats even out across the position, and a true team of the week unveiled.

So we’ve used the stats for each position and picked the best starting 13 players from the most recent round, the stats and points assigned are explained at the end.
On top of the best starting 13, we include the best four interchange players of the week. Seeing who has provided maximum impact from the bench.
The Team of the Week is full of Broncos after their thrilling late win. And we have thrown a couple of extra Broncos in with our pick four. Not that we love Broncos, but following the stats for the top 13.
There’s also three players from the losing Rabbitohs side, which surprises just a little.
Tom Starling continues to be the interchange player of choice with yet another appearance in our best from the bench.

A FEW BARELY INTERESTING STATS:
- Payne Haas’ 104 post contact metres was further than the actual running metres of ten other starting props. He leads the category for the season by 50 metres on the next best.
- Five players are currently averaging over 200 run metres per game – Jacob Kiraz, PAyne Haas, Daine Laurie, Marcelo Montoya and Dylan Edwards on top with 217 metres per game.
