After Canada’s immense effort against Belgium in the first game, they will have a few more followers for this key second game. Group F is pretty open, and a win here for Canada could have them right in the mix.
And in Croatia they face a team quite similar to Belgium. Top European side with an aging group of players, a key midfield general, so given how they went against Belgium maybe they just need an ounce of luck. Or a better taken penalty if it is offered.
Pressure is on Croatia then as a finalist last time. If they fail to win here then they still have their arguably toughest game v Belgium to come.
Who should you care about?
Luka Modric was our player of the match in the first up draw with Morocco, and he will be key for Croatia again.
As for Canada, take your pick at the young talent. By now most are acquainted with Jonathan David and Alphonso Davies, and of course they’ll be worth watching, but we’ll throw in two more that impressed against Belgium. So our Canadian players to watch are Stephen Eustáquio and Tajon Buchanan.
