A Brisbane woman has grown bored of a previously enjoyable TV show.
Sarah enjoyed the first two seasons of Netflix show The Billmores, a ‘dramedy’ set in a small American town and centering around a young mother and her teenage daughter.
But the anticipated third season has been a let down, with most of the plotlines focused around feuding family members.
“It’s ridiculous! I’ve watched a few episodes and every one has family members fighting over something dumb that happened a gazillion years ago, not talking to each other for a bit, then reuniting over coffee. Then there’s a brand new fight the next episode! Rinse and repeat.” said Sarah. “There’s enough petty dramas and fights in real life. I watch these shows to escape that crap.”
While Sarah stuck out the 12-episode third season, she ‘unfollowed’ the show on Netflix and left a scathing review on the show’s IMDB page, saying that “this once great show will die a slow death if it keeps up the boring soap opera melodrama.”
To make herself feel better, Sarah began binging Gilmore Girls for the first time, before realising that The Billmores was a blatant rip-off of that far superior show. She’s already halfway through season three of Gilmore Girls and is loving the quirky small-town drama.
”I should’ve watched the Gilmores to begin with and saved myself a lot of time! There’s a lot of conflict in the show, but it’s all realistic.”
