2022 NRL Round 10 Barely Interesting Stats

SUNCORP STADIUM EDITION

This weekend’s Magic Round features clashes between the bottom two sides and the top two sides. The NRL being unlucky the first of those close clashes opens the weekend.

The six sides with the best winning % at Suncorp Stadium since 1998 are all playing each other. Only five teams have a winning % of 50% or more.

Canberra are averaging one win a decade at Suncorp Stadium. They did win there last season.

MATCH BY MATCH BARELY INTERESTING STATS

Bulldogs have lost 10 in a row at Suncorp Suncorp Stadium and lost all five clashes on a Thursday.

Newcastle and Bulldogs have never met on a Thursday before.

Newcastle haven’t scored a second half point since Round 6.

Broncos have won three in a row v Sydney clubs.

Broncos have won three of the ten games they have played as the away side at Suncorp Stadium. Those three wins have come against Manly (from six games).

Broncos have lost nine away games in a row on a Friday and have passed 12 points just once in that sequence (16).

Manly have scored exactly 50 points in their last two games on a Friday v Qld opposition.

Going back to 2013, South Sydney have won 11 of the last 12 games v Warriors.

South Sydney is the current NRL side Warriors score the most points on average against since 1998.

South Sydney have won ten straight in Queensland on a Saturday going back to 2015.

** St George Illawarra have won all eight games v Gold Cast Titans on a Saturday.

Gold Coast Titan’s first game in the NRL was against St George Illawarra at Suncorp Stadium. Their record v Dragons at Suncorp is 2/2 and have scored exactly 20 points on both occasions.

** Going back to the start of the 2020 season – Penrith have won 15 of the 17 clashes in Queensland.

Melbourne Storm have won just two of their last six games v Penrith.

Canberra have won the last seven in a row v Cronulla.

Going back to 2004, Cronulla have won just one of the their last nine games since on a Sunday at any Queensland ground.

Roosters have won the only previous clash between these sides in Queensland (Mackay) in 2021.

Parramatta have won their last seven on a Sunday v anyone, anywhere.

Parramatta have never scored a point against the Roosters in games played in Queensland. Roosters won the only contest 28-0.

Wests Tigers have won both of their previous Magic Round matches (beat Newc 36-18 in 2021 and Penrith 30-4 in 2019). The Cowboys have lost both of their previous Magic Round matches (lost to Roosters 30-16 in 2021 and Souths 32-16 in 2019).

Cowboys and Wests Tigers are the top two teams for Tackle Efficiency this season.
