This week’s alternative tips is based on the Federal Election which continues to dominate the news.
So we have used Election Results from the 2019 Federal Election, and determined which team’s seat has the smaller margin heading into this year’s election. The thinking is, the smaller the margin, the more likely campaign dollars will be thrown at the NRL’s club’s electorate, so the happier they will be with more promises and cash thrown at them.
Whether it happens of not doesn’t matter. Our alternative tips matter and are below.

Manly have won 18/21 against the Sharks since 2008. The two teams have never met on a Thursday. Sharks have lost 10 of their last 12 at Shark Park v Manly.
Manly have lost seven of their last eight on a Thursday v Sydney teams. Cronulla have won four of their last five on a Thursday.
Bulldogs are the only side the Broncos haven’t lost to since Covid started.
Broncos have won six straight at Suncorp v Bulldogs. Although they have lost six of their last seven at Suncorp on a Friday v Sydney teams.
Gold Coast have beaten North Queensland three times in a row now, and by a combined 110-32.
Gold Coast haven’t beaten North Queensland on a Saturday since 2012. Nine games ago.
Souths lead the Wests Tigers 2-1 at Commbank Stadium.
The Rabbitohs have won an incredible 12 games in a row on a Saturday. Tigers have won two of their last 14 Saturday games.
Parramatta have won eight straight away games on a Sunday.
The last team to beat Penrith at Penrith Stadium on a Sunday was Canberra.
Dragons have lost seven in a row to Roosters.
St George Illawarra hold an 11-8 H2H record for Anzac Day clashes. But they have won all three clashes that have fallen on a Monday.
Melbourne have won just four of their last 11 games on a Monday.
Warriors have lost 11 in a row to Melbourne. They last beat Melbourne in 2015.
