A nostalgic viewing of a ‘raunchy’ 1970s comedy has proved disappointing for one man.
Looking for something to veg out to on Easter Sunday, Adam was delighted to find all four seasons of At your Service, which was set in a high-end fashion store in London, and was famous for a lot of ‘sexy’ and ‘daring’ humour.
”I loved this show as a kid! Channel Seven showed two episodes every Friday night and I never missed it,” said Adam.
But Adam quickly realised how badly this show had aged, abandoning it after two episodes.
”One of the lower-class staff would make a ‘dirty’ double entrendre joke, then one of stuffy upper-class staff would make a funny face and that was it. They repeated the same joke in the first episode about 10 times! Then a pair of mechanical teeth somehow got into a store mannequin’s boxers shorts. In the second episode they went on a camping trip, everyone got their tents mixed up, and the studio audience cracked up. How did I think this was funny?”
Adam cheered himself up by going for a run and binging season four of The Simpsons when he got home.
”Marge vs. the Monorail is the greatest episode of all time! Conan O’Brien is a genius!”
Everyday News is a brand new general news/parody section of The Gurgler, and definitely not a lame rip-off of ‘The Betoota Advocate’. We swear.
