This week the decision continues to be easy, with Mo Salah continuing to do his thing. But he has close competition this week. Plus with old managers gone at Spurs and Man Utd he might have some competition every week soon.

Here are the FPL Captain Picks GW13 results. A full explanation and full list of the stats and calculations are provided at the end.
We show only the top ten, the entire data is determined by our selection of the top potential captain choices.
Stats are based up to the previous GW except for scoring records v opposition. Where there is no opposition history we have taken this season’s stats.
FPL Captain Picks GW13 Analysis
Mo Salah continues to lead the way at the top of our Captain’s Table, as he will likely for every week (until he goes to African Cup of Nations). Mo Salah leads a lot of the categories we will share below, and he has only blanked twice in 12 games this season. Not only does he lead just about every field, he leads just about every field for the last five GW. He has a great record of scoring against this weekend’s opponents Southampton, as do Liverpool at home to Southampton. Liverpool have won the past four games at home v Southampton by a combined 12-0. Captain against him at your own peril we guess.
So maybe we use the rest of the captain analysis for who to have as Vice Captain. Or one for the rule breakers and individuals going for broke.
Before leaving Liverpool, there’s also Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander-Arnold to consider. Mane’s season isn’t going as gangbusters as some might have hoped, including himself, but he is still third for most Shots on Target and his overall points is still top ten, but you aren’t going to captain him over Mo, and his record against his former clubs isn’t as good as his team mate. Trent Alexander-Arnold has scored a goal or got an assist in three of the last four matches, and Southampton aren’t the most free scoring team, so a clean sheet is likely (look at the combined 12-0 over the last four home games for Liv v Sou).
Now away from Liverpool.
Reece James is the newcomer to our Top Ten Captain’s Table and why wouldn’t he be. His current form of 13.3 is the league’s best, and he is only a single FPL point behind Mo Salah for the last 5 GW (55 v 54). A lack of goals and assists v Man Utd historically for Reece James personally (none in five games) may put you off, but it is a different Man Utd and Reece James at the moment. James is on a run of four games with either a goal or an assist so in top form. On the down side, with Ole gone from Man Utd there has to be improvement and so the excitement of playing that Man Utd defense has dropped a little. Surely they can’t be that bad again under a new manager. And the last two games between these sides has ended 0-0. Points for the clean sheet anyway. Chelsea themselves are leading the Clean Sheet total for the record.
Man Utd were so terrible last weekend v Watford that it is surprising that any player features in our top ten Captain’s Picks. But that one player is none other than Cristian Ronaldo. Although, his scoring record v Chelsea is quite below his lofty standards with just one goal and two assists in 15 games v Chelsea. But it’s Ronaldo, and he can quite easily bag multiple goals and scored as ever in the Champions League midweek. Although Ronaldo’s record v the bigger, higher placed teams drops off. Especially shots against the big six.
RONALDO’S 21-22 FPL STATS
Bruno Fernandes’ stats are still good too – he leas Chances created and Key Pass stats and is top ten for shots – and we are presuming there will be a time to take him back in our FPL arms, but it’s a wait and see for now.
Spurs duo Son and Kane we bring up every week in the hope they do something and results have been limited. Kane at least has a super record with Burnley with 12 goals or assists in 13 clashes. Son is due to do something too. Will this be the week?
Man City always have a load of players up for selection in our Captain’s table, but this week only Bernardo Silva is in the top ten. He is in good form, and currently looks to be more likely to be picked every week than most others. Bernardo is high up in the stats for touches, but it doesn’t necessarily translate to chances creation or shots.
Not to forget about Connor Gallagher. FPL Players are catching on with the Chelsea loanee at Crystal Palace. His stats below are right up there. Gallagher’s ownership graph looks a lot like a Covid cases graph and a second wave is about to happen.

Bruno Fernandes still leads this category, but looking at the last GW visual his reign might be over soon.
Conor Gallagher has 13 chances created in the last 5 GW compared to his 20 overall for the season.
Even more so for Reece James whose 12 chances created in the last five GW sees him in the top five yet he isn’t in the top 20 overall for all GW.
