EFL | EFL Football League Predictions GW5 – Championship – League One – League Two

The 2021-22 Football League season is already 9% completed, and for some fans with that spark in their eye at the start of the season there is disappointment already at another potential season of mediocrity or worse. Talking of disappointment, our EFL Football League Predictions GW5 are here. Our predictions were a little off in GW4 but are ready to make amends this week.

Each weekend or midweek we will make predictions for all of the Championship, League One, League Two using our in-house method using multiple football stats that will grow throughout the season.

It takes away any in-house bias as a long-term Ipswich Town fan or a recent AFC Wimbledon and Wycombe enthusiast.

Our EFL Football League Predictions GW5 will work out a H2H% between both sides using 21-22 match records, H2H, key football stats and more.

Plus we’ll throw in stats for each division for you to enjoy.

Time to leave the heights of the Premier League for jsut a while and immerse yourself in our EFL Football League Predictions GW5.

Here are our Championship predictions for this weekend, fresh from an encouraging 8/12 from the weekend round.

The big game this weekend has to be the early clash on SDaturday between Derby County and Nottingham Forest. Derby just hung on in the Championship last season, and have started off this campaign to too bad with W1 D2 L1. Which is significantly better than their rival’s zero wins from their four games. The Derby prediction is one of the most lop sided of the weekend. But who knows with a big rivalry.

Elsewhere not too many upsets are predicted. Coventry beating QPR may be a small surprise, and what a story given they are in the top six and back at the old home ground.

Our predictions tip more misery for Sheffield Utd at the hands of Luton.

Welcome to the expanded 2021-22 season stats for the Championship with a load of stats now available with the season flying as it is.

The Home and Away + Opponents Position comparison are using the points per game.

There’s some expected goals figures for those who love their xG.

Plus we throw in a quick look to see who is getting best value for money. Fallen Sheffield United with one point is clearly going to feature at the wrong end of this table but the Blades are so far in front for worst value. Look at their fellow relegatees Fulham and West Brom who are almost as good value as Reading.

25% of the teams are yet to taste defeat with four yet to win.

QPR are the team who are currently outperforming their expected goals by the most, Blackpool are at the other end.

Going down a tier it is over to the most competitive leagues in Europe – fallen giants, up and comers, and all the teams in between.

The top six clash between Sunderland and Wycombe is predicted to be a draw.

11th placed Rotherham have the most lop sided H2H advantage of League One as they take on bottom four Doncaster.

Our predictions system still doesn’t like Ipswich Town.

LEAGUE ONE STATS

League One season stats are now here with a good mix of promoted sides, underdogs and big name clubs all battling at the top.

And a so far disappointing club we love towards the bottom, and they haven’t won a game yet despite an off season splurge.

There are two clubs yet to concede a goal – Portsmouth and Sheffield Wednesday. Shrewsbury at the bottom are yet to score.

Last and certainly not least are the League Two selections.

This is currently our worst league for winning %, but we’re sure we can boost this with a new signing or two.

Current winning record – 40%
Last Round (GW3) – 7/12

LEAGUE TWO STATS

And finally we come to the current results and stats for League Two.

There’s still a few teams on the 100% record, Forest Green and promoted Harrogate who are catching up games because of Covid.

Oldham sit bottom of the Football League with zero points,
