FPL Captain Picks GW2 Analysis
So you’ve seen our Captain’s Table, and now it is time for a piece of our mind.
Bruno Fernandes or Mo Salah that’s what it boils down to.
On the pro-Bruno side is he smashes our Captain’s Table with a record score of 97.5 for the two and bit seasons we have been doing it (best possible being 100).
What helps is his record against this weekend’s opponent Southampton. Two goals and three assists in three games.
Plus Manchester United were great on the road last season, avoiding defeat all season long. They are undefeated in 13 games at Southampton and beat them 9-0 last season.
And he took those goals so easily, even Expected Goals weren’t expecting them.
But Mo Salah was no slouch last weekend in his opening dig against Norwich with three scoring plays of his own.
Burnley may seem an easy game on paper for Liverpool, and while they should get the buzz from their first full home game since winning their title, it may not be the easy game it seems.
Liverpool have only won one of their last four home games against Burnley, although the one win in four produced four Liverpool goals.
If you have only one the decision is easy to make, if not flip a coin or go with your favourite.
For your consideration are the below key stats from last season’s FPL for the Top Ten players from our Captain’s Table.
FPL Captain Picks GW2 Final Say
HELLO – Bruno Fernandes it is for us. We talked ourselves into it based on his previous against Southampton.
CALL ME MAYBE – Michail Antonio is not a bad choice based on last weekend but Leicester could be a tough game. But our left field Captain choice this weekend is Mason Greenwood so looked super last weekend and faces the same opposition as our top pick. And he has to make hay with some Sancho and Cavani back soon.
GOODBYE – Harry Kane – well he may be back this week, but we’re still staying well clear. Unless he lobs at Man City.

The big surprise here is Arsenal and Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney topping some of the tables. After their poor first game of the season against Brentford, the data does back up the appearance that Tierney looked FPL good last weekend despite the loss.
