The big double game week has been and gone, and for some it was a rewarding experience, other like us much less so, a victim of the Peppy-go-Round. But we’ll dust ourselves off and get back into it and to assist you and us (pardon the pun) our Fantasy Premier League analysis and FPL Captain Tips Gameweek 27 returns for another GW.
This week it is basically a choice of which Man City player you have, or do you have an alternative to Gundogan, and if not is it time to triple. Our Captain;s table says potentially yes.
At the top is our regular Captain’s table, which is all about the premium players we identify each week to be the best captain choices. But it also doubles as a guide for which of the best players to take. This week Man City players are at the top because of the double. Although a few players make single GW claims.
But not only that, there’s loads of general FPL stats on offer as well. Kings of Assists, those creating the best chances, shots on target and more.
So enjoy our FPL Captain Tips Gameweek 27 and more.

FPL Captain Tips Gameweek 27 – CAPTAIN’S TABLE
Here we assemble the finest stats we can think of to get the best picture of who should wear the armband for your team.
It is a mix of current FPL form, historical goal scoring and assist form v opponents, relative FPL performance per their cost and points scored per minute.
Each category is given a weighting, and points assigned relative to that high point. Each category score is totaled for he final score.
The final score this week is out of 200, with the double up of games.
THE VERDICT
Man City players it is, although you are essentially picking them for the second game against a Southampton side that has the worst form in Europe, almost. A lot of Man City’s players have an ordinary record v Man Utd or they are coming back from injury or Pep feels like changing it up again. So even with a sure thing there isn’t.
Gundogan is the pick according to our table, but he has looked a little flat since Kevin de Bruyne has returned, and who can trust Pep. Although, you’d have to pick one Man City players so may as well be the one with the most points. And his record v Manchester Utd is one of the better returns. But has not scored in five games v Southampton. Although they were likey to be Saints teams in much better form.
Although Kevin de Bruyne may be worth considering as he is likely to play both. He has a great record against Southampton but not so much against Man Utd. And is looking sharper each week. The Captains table goes against him slightly for a lack of football compared to others.
Riyad Mahrez is in great form and is second on the captains table, but there’s always doubt whether he will play both. His record against both sides is OK, but he’s not as cheap as Gundogan and less likely to be owned. Which is a good thing if you do and you trust him to play as a differential.
Raheem Sterling features in our captains table but has a really poor record v Man Utd, so he will either score nothing or not play. His Southampton record is quite good though.
Phil Foden was a guest star of the recent double game week, so you would only take him as captain or keep in your team if you believe Pep is up to something and he will play both and blow the occasionally turtle-like Man Utd away with his pace and youth. Can’t trust Pep.
Bruno Fernandes is a single game week entry, but all you need to know is that Man Utd have scored one goal v big six opposition this season. And he looks exhausted before that stat.
FINAL VERDICT – Gundogan on stats OR Kevin de Bruyne on faith.
