Week 30 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating & Beyond

The English Premier League is back, and if you have forgotten which Premier League side has the easiest or hardest set of upcoming fixtures or even who they are playing in general, then our Week 30 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating should be the perfect resource.

Proud partners of The Gurgler – S&C Sports Data – have come up with a measure to judge the difficulty factor for each team over the next three games. Not just with current table position, but historical results and more.

We could go further, but we think three games provides just enough window for FPL players, late night sports fans in Australia and around the world, or multi loving gamblers alike.

But for that quick look for your FPL side or betting purposes, please accept the Week 30 Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating & Beyond analysis.

How our Premier League Fixtures Difficulty Rating works….

S&C Sports Data have data from 10 seasons of Premier League, and created a measure of each team’s head to head record over that period, on a sliding scale from current day backwards.

Then the team in question and the opposition’s overall and recent form is taken into consideration, including measuring the relative form of the two sides.

The Match Rater 3000 score is then produced, with a range of 1 being the easiest possible fixture up to 10 for the hardest.

So the S&C measure combines many fields to give an overall picture for the next three games.

But there’s plenty more than the next three games, so read on.

Upcoming Three Game Rating

  • Manchester City are surprisingly up in the top few team for upcoming difficultly, but do meet Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in the next four rounds. The Arsenal game is a catch up, but is midweek where Arsenal have a great track record.
  • Brighton have the hardest run for the next three games and are only two points ahead of the drop.
  • Liverpool’s have consistently been at the bottom of the difficulty ratings, but with a looming Man City match in the next three, their average is well up.
  • Newcastle players may proved great FPL value, with a relatively easy run for the northerners.
  • The teams chasing the last European places are in the bottom section of the above table.

Which team in Overperforming / Underperforming against our Difficulty Rating?

We have gone back through our difficulty ratings so far this season, and worked out the potential points each team could have scored, and then have a comparison ready for mild interest.

Our predictions were a little hard on Newcastle and Southampton, but no surprise that Sheffield Utd are out-performing our predictions. Watford and Aston Villa have turned it around too.

Down the other end, our data clearly shows that we think Chelsea were much better than they actually are this year, but some north London and Manchester clubs are underperforming with our measure too.
