The shortest month of the year nears completion, but that doesn’t mean there’s a lack of depth with the February 2020 Jerk of the Month nominations.
February brings the usual recurring nominations, and some new entries in a diverse field. We also rate the Jerks out of 100%, and an explanation follows the nominations.

Why have they been such a jerk this month?
Although with the set up of Impeachment he was never going to face any real trouble, his reaction during and after was truly jerk-worthy. One wonders after gliding through impeachment if that will embolden Trump into even more jerk work. Our monthly poll hopes so.

Why have they been such a jerk this month?
Relationships break down and it is sad and it can hurt.
And sometimes one gender does get a rough deal when children are involved.
But nothing on earth can justify not only killing your children, but torching them alive.
Many parents go their separate ways, and eventually children grow up and understand why the break happened or had to happen. Sadly, a recent event won’t give some innocent children the chance. Although, they may not have needed to much time to work out the main fault in the partnership.
Sadly, we don’t offer up evil c–t of the month, because we’d have a real front runner.

OVER EXAGGERATING MEDIA

Why have they been such a jerk this month?
Related to the above, it shits us to tears when the media completely over exaggerate, and usually people are too lazy to check if it is true. Although, lying with remorse without has worked out for Trump.
This month saw a perpetrator called an “NRL Star” in some reports. We’re sorry, playing reserve grade for the NZ Warriors does not constitute a star, or even an NRL player. Perhaps NRL hopeful would have been better.
It is the worst exaggeration since Fox Sports called Gavin Robertson a Test great during the sandpaper scandal.

An awful bunch of contestants and producers combining for bottom of barrel.

Returning from 2019 with their “social experiment, Channel Nein’s relationship experts (read dodgy producers) have come up with another batch of people capable of delivering LCD, bottom of the barrel TV.

Awful people at work
Why have they been such a jerk this month?
Everyone usually has to deal with a workplace bully, and the sad thing is they usually get away with their behaviour. Well, except maybe Harvey Weinstein but that took a while.
It usually isn’t in your face bullying either, just continued subtle digs, exclusion, and general childish and anti-social behaviour. Sadly, it usually comes from a person in a position of power which makes come-uppence harder to serve.
At least a Jerk of the Month vote can deliver some revenge.

The problem with claiming you are such a big Aussie icon, is that when you eventually sell out you are disliked that little bit more than another company.
Took the money from the government to stay afloat and still bailed anyway.

Disease
Why have they been such a jerk this month?
If anyone was wondering where SARS went, then their curiosity should be quenched with the arrival of Coronavirus.
With the disease coming from China, and information not to be trusted from that country, it is difficult to tell how worried we should be.
Proper worried that is, not commercial TV news, breaking news, flashed up on screen worried.
We’d take for the world to be taken down, but something that sounds like a hangover.

New Jerk Rating system
A new feature for 2020 is the enhanced Jerk rating to go along with the Jerk of the Month form guide each month.
Previously it was just a flat /10 mark, but we think there’s more layers than that. What needs to be considered is how big the jerk act was in the current month compared to their usual way of life. How important the person is, i.e. a person who should know/do better or just a random person who couldn’t help themselves. Finally, how consistently a jerk they are. The more they are, the more they deserve your vote in general.
D – Dastardly – For instance, a random footballer king hitting a referee is pretty bad, where yet another tantrum from a Tomic type person would be lower.
I – Importance – Was the jerk act at a big event, captured the world’s attention, or made by someone in a position who should know plenty better.
C – Consistency – Is the person a Jerk all the time, and with each new month’s nomination grows into your vote.
