They’ll be more to talk about in the coming weeks, including a prediction model to assist you with your FPL side every week. Coming soon when we have more 2019-20 season data, so stay tuned.

For now, for the Fantasy Premier League FPL Preview Gameweek 1, we have a brief discussion on a few items of interest ahead of the big first weekend.

Fantasy Premier League FPL Preview Gameweek 1 – Captain Choices

This week’s Captain choices seems relatively easy, with both title contenders starting the season off with easy games.

Liverpool’s at home to recently promoted Norwich looks a gimme, and so that means that a Liverpool player must be considered. But Norwich aren’t as hopeless as the odds suggest, so it could be tighter than it seems.

Manchester City’s game away at West Ham looks much tougher on paper, but then you have to consider the head to head record. The last four visits of Man City to West Ham have ended in four wins, and a crazy goals scored/conceded of 17-1.

So let’s go through the Man City and Liverpool options, and throw in some side options.

MO SALAH – always a factor every week, no matter the opposition. The only concern is fitness after a long season. But he showed glimpses that it will be another big season in the Community Shield.

SADIO MANE – the question is if he will play, or for how long. Went deep into the AFCON tournament, and has been wrapped up in cotton wool since.

RAHEEM STERLING – Man City’s dynamo will probably pick up where he left off last year – with a massive swag of points. His record v West Ham is 12 Games – 5 Goals – 8 Assists

KEVIN DE BRUYNE – Looking sharp as, now being injury free, and he is primed to cause mayhem at the Olympic Stadium. He has a more modest record against West Ham of 2 Goals / 2 Assists.

SERGIO AGUERO – Another among the goals and points v West Ham – his record v West Ham – 13 Games – 9 Goals – 4 Assists

THE LEFT FIELD OPTION

Like a Gluten Free or Vegan option on a menu, we offer up an alternative to the main meals aka the big six teams.

Gylfi Sigurdsson – part of an Everton side that is looking increasingly good. As he is good himself. His record v Crystal Palace is 9 Games – 4 Goals / 4 Assists.

Fantasy Premier League FPL Preview – Difficulty Factor

We have previous released a new method of determining the difficulty of each team’s games. Based on last year’s form, table position, relative form to opposition, and head to head record, we have a score of 1 (Easy to 10 (Hard).

Our measure below is for the next three games to give you a little more term thinking.
