The Champions League returns this week, and like most football we think we know everything and have our Champions League Matchday 3 Predictions ready.
And as ever we put our tips up against a unique opponent, usually based on a football statistic but sometimes not, much like our semi popular Premier League tips.
We’ll also throw in a minimum of information for a quick preview of Champions League Matchday 3 Predictions for those on the go.
Time to set the alarm and get up that little bit early in Australia, or get home early from work/the pub elsewhere for Champions League Matchday 3 .
Champions League Matchday 3 Predictions
Gurgler v National Championships Won
Opponent Tips Background: We have used current league position for Matchday 1 and national league titles for Matchday 2 and we are not runnign out of ideas just yet. , \
Given we use the great Who Scored website for most of our Football stats, why not use the great resource to come up with a stat to pick winners from.
For Matchday 3 we are using each team’s Who Scored Team Rating from the respective national leagues, unless it is not covered liek in the smaller league, where we take the Who Scored rating from this year’s Champions League.
The higher the Who Scored rating, that team gets the tip. All ratings are at the end for mild interest.
The Gurgler’s selections are based on a mixture of listening to multiple podcasts and reading way too many websites, added with ignorance to all of that with our own thoughts.

Champions League Matchday 3 – Four Games to Watch
You can’t watch everything, well actually you can if you have Optus Sport and no job or life, so we select our four games to watch for the Champions League Matchday 3 ahead.
Times in ADST for the poor souls who have to get up early.
MANCHESTER UNITED v JUVENTUS (Wed 6:00am)
After a decent showing against Chelsea in the Premier League they have to take on one of the most in-form teams in Europe. Although Juventus did draw also this weekend against Genoa, it was their first dropped points of the season, and they have Cristiano Ronaldo. Manchester United don’t, but they still have some decent players – more than enough to be ahead of Watford and Wolves in the Premier League. A win could turn the corner for Jose Mourinho.
BORUSSIA DORTMUND v ATLETICO MADRID (Thu 6:00am)
Bundesliga leaders Dortmund welcome one of Europe’s most consistent teams from the past few seasons in Atletico Madrid. The week’s hipster’s choice.
BARCELONA v INTER MILAN (Thu 6:00am)
Barcelona are back on top of La Liga and they put on a masterclass against Spurs last matchday Inter Milan are coming off the big Milan derby. A win for either of the 100% sides could just about seal passage to the next stage.
PSG v NAPOLI (Thu 6:00am)
Napoli are the surprise leaders if Group C, with one game winners Liverpool and PSG 1 point behind. PSG’s only loss this year has come in the Champions League – they are 100% in Ligue 1 with 30 points and a 31 goal difference after 10 games. 17 goals between Mbappe and Neymar. Napoli are second in Serie A but did knock Liverpool off last matchday.
