The football competitions around the world are reaching their exciting conclusions, but that doesn’t mean all the games need a winner and a loser. They say there can only be winners and losers in sport, but of course they’re wrong, there’s always the draw, and who doesn’t love a draw where everyone wins. Those winners include canny punters who look for value, and here to help is our Football Draws Tips of the Week – 20-27. And it’s an international week special.
Our resident draw expert Frankington Stanley runs his keen eye over the many football divisions around the world to find the best draws for you. He’s sort of like the John West of Football draws, he hates Dog Salmon and lop sided fixtures. Frankington spent the off season ignoring the Euros to continent-hop across dozens of countries to assess the best league and teams for draws.
Frankington Stanley is not fussy, no country or continent is out of bounds, and the more obscure the better. And some of them are quite obscure. They don’t even feature on the Who Scored website.
So get yourself ready for another weekly serving of the finest Football Draw tips from all over the world, where The Gurgler and Frankington Stanley take the stale out of stalemate.
It’s all you can eat draws. Grab a spoon.
DRAW OF THE WEEK
ITALY v GERMANY
THURSDAY MARCH 20th 19:45PM
Now be careful here, these teams play each other twice in a short space of time, but we are talking about the Italy home leg, where there have been draws-a-plenty. In fact, the last three games between Italy and Germany have ended in a draw. Throw in that two of the five games not in Italy were draws too. Germany’s away form this season is W1 D2. Italy’s home form is W1 D1 L1.
OTHER DRAW HIGHLIGHTS
URUGUAY v ARGENTINA
FRIDAY MARCH 21st 23:30 GMT
Uruguay come into this South American World Cup qualifier on the back of four draws in their last six. That’s good drawing power. The H2H in Uruguay sees an even W2 D2 L2 from the last six meetings, so a draw is certainly not out of the question. Uruguay have drawn two of their last three games at home and Argentina’s away form is quite ordinary – LDL – so with these teams sitting 1st (Argentina) and 3rd (Uruguay obviously) they both mikght settle for a draw. And so will you.
TURKIYE v HUNGARY
THURSDAY MARCH 20th 19:00 GMT
A Nations League A Qualifier, which probably means close to stuff all for either side, so you are immediately sniffing around a draw. Turkiye drew their last home game in November. Hungary have drawn three of their last five. The H2H has a draw in the second last game in Turkiye.
CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC v MALI
MONDAY MARCH 24th 16:00
Over to Africa for a draw, and this match has only seen one game H2H and one result – a draw in October 2023. Since that game Mali have played a further eight games, and drawn four of them.
GEORGIA v ARMENIA
SUNDAY MARCH 23rd 14:00 GMT
A draw two starts ago between Georgia and Armenia is a good start. Georgia drew their last home game, which works. Armenia drew their second last away game.
SLOVENIA v SLOVAKIA
SUNDAY MARCH 23rd 17:00 GMT
Occasionally confused by ignorant people who don’t care about geography, you can’t confuse the result here, these teams drew the last time they met home and away for the World Cup in 2021. Slovenia have draw their first and most recent home game of this international season.
