While Melbourne is sweltering through the last wave of summer, one former Queenslander is finding it easy.
With another mid-30s day to close out February, Brian Barnes said he finds Melbourne’s heat refreshing.
“Mate, this is nothing. I was born and bred in Brisbane and the humidity and heat is sapping and never-ending! That’s why real men come from Queensland! That’s why we smash the Blues in Origin all the time! All these p**weak Mexicans have no idea what real heat is like! They don’t even have proper footy here, just that bouncy ball crap with men and women in vests and points for missing!”
Brian moved to Melbourne in 2019 for work, and has acclimatised well, or so he says.
“Old mate is full of s***!” said his wife Sarah. “He can handle the heat but hates the cold! We moved here in the middle of winter and he wouldn’t stop complaining about how cold it was. I had to buy the sook a brand new wardrobe of trackie dacks, long sleeve t-shirts, and Oodies to stop him whining! He’s better in summer, but still has a sook when the inevitable cold change comes after a few warm days.”
