It’s a new season, and excitement is high for F1 in 2024 as most fans pray that Max Verstappen and Red Bull don’t win everything. Unless you are a Max Verstappen fan who likes him coming first at the time. Talking of firsts and every position lower, here is our 2024 Bahrain F1 Grand Prix Preview
The Gurgler’s 2024 Bahrain F1 Grand Prix Preview brings some thoughts on the race itself, a few bold predictions here and there, a more than a few barely interesting stats.
Essentially a quick summary of what a casual F1 fan needs in the shortest possible time for your convenience.
The track map sort-of resembles a dog with a duck-like head is poised to bite its own tail.
Of course there’s not much bite nor bark to the Bahrain Grand Prix circuit, which is as Tilke as it gets.
It at least allows for some overtaking with the long straights into tight corners. And these long straights and tight corners will hopefully provide action a plenty on lap one of a new season. We hope.
Talking of tight corners, Turn 10 is underrated for action which involves making the F1 drivers look a little clumsy.
But overall, we’d prefer them to use the shorter Indy track to make it a little more interesting.
2024 Bahrain F1 Grand Prix Preview – Race Rating
The Gurgler does like to use some obscure drivers in our Race previews and report, so who better to use than Teo Fabi to determine a race rating system.
So before each race we give a rating out of ten for four key category that are loosely based on each letter of Teo Fabi’s surname. Don’t know who Teo Fabi is, you should.
FAST? 7/10 – Long straights and a few fast corners mean the driver
ACTION? 5/10 – First race of the season gives this a 5/10 score where it would normally have got a three. At best.
BIG HISTORY? – 5/10 The Bahrain Grand Prix has been around for a while, but we can barely remember any of them.
INCLEMENT WEATHER? – 1/10 There’s actually a greater chance than zero of rain in Bahrain over the F1 race weekend which surprised us according to The Weather Channel. But will believe it when we see it.
RACE RATING 45% – A bit pessimistic start to the season, but given the testing results and the track in general it’s also realistic.
