GURGLERBET | The Open Golf Betting, Womens Football World Cup, NRL, F1, Ashes & Weekend Sporting Highlights – 19 July 2023

Welcome to the GurglerBet Weekend Betting & Sporting Highlights for the big sporting weekend ahead, and it is a big, sleep depriving weekend ahead. Featuring British Open, Womens Football World Cup, NRL, Ashes and F1 Betting, the Draw of the Week, $1000 multi and much more.

GurglerBet is the Official Betting Partner of The Gurgler website, and it does betting differently.

First of all GurglerBet is the Home of the Fifty Cent bet. That’s not a minimum limit, but the only betting unit. Making responsible betting at the heart of their wagering.

GurglerBet also offer markets that no one can or dares to offer. Either weekly specials or long standing offers to customers.

But it’s not just all betting, there’s a weekend of sporting action that awaits with our thoughts, and in partnership with our big GurglerBet – Home of the Fifty Cent Bet.

Note: GurglerBet is also not actually a betting company in case you were wondering how to put a bet on.

THE GURGLERBET WEEKEND SPORTING HIGHLIGHTS

Here are the GurglerBet choice sporting events for the weekend ahead that you should probably tune into, and a special betting offer from each that you probably won’t find anywhere else.

GOLF – THE OPEN aka BRITISH OPEN

THURSDAY TO SUNDAY

Golf is rarely interesting, unless is involves Greg Norman, Happy Gilmore and the US Masters. We’ll throw The Open aka the British Open into that mix. Although, the time slot sucks a little.

Last year saw Brisbane lad Cameron Smith, no not that one the one people like and the golfer, take The Open prize followed by a swag of money to join LIV.

Can he do it again? Like British Paints (excluding former spokesperson) – sure can.

But maybe spurred on by the LIV drama and being narrowly beaten last year to the disappointment of the British media, Rory McIlroy will be keen to stick two fingers up in loads of directions.

Maybe towards Greg Norman, who we hope will be there. In any form.

Shame our favourite golfer of all time won’t be there – Miguel Angel Jiminez – but no doubt he’ll be involved in the Senior British Open next weekend, which features so many great former greats and favourites. Including most of our Five Favourite Golfers of All Time.

But there’s still some names and people to watch for The Open this year. Like the ever reliable Justin Rose who’s always worth a first round leader bet. Ernie Els will be there. So to is Big Phil Mickleson and golfing enigma Adam Scott. And hey, John Daly is along for the ride too.

Talking of names, we plead ignorance with our knowledge of the European Golf Tour, while showcasing some great names to keep an eye on – Jazz Janewattananond, Nacho Elvira and Adam Schenk, which sounds like a bad golf shot.

What more do you need?

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL WORLD CUP

FROM THURSDAY TO AUGUST 20

Australia may have missed out on the 2022 Men’s World Cup, but the 2023 Women’s World Cup in all its international glory. And better than the Men’s tournament Australia can actually win this one.

Not forgetting that Australia have won the only major international tournament played on home soil when winning the Asian Championship.

One does wonder why the World Cup was shifted forward so the end doesn’t overlap the return of European Football, but we don’t have enough money to question FIFA.

Back to Australia winning the Women’s World Cup. Their campaign start this Thursday against Ireland, and they are $1.30 to beat the Irish. In a more difficult draw the other host nation New Zealand drew women’s footballing powerhouse Norway in their first game and are $10.50 outsiders.

The first round of games is a lot about outsiders though – Nigeria are $9.50 to beat Canada and Philippines are $21 to beat Switzerland, but they are short odds compared to others.

Costa Rica are $71 to beat Spain, Haiti are $91 to beat England and betting has been suspended on Vietnam beating the USA at the value-packed odds of $126.

Australia’s next game will be against Nigeria next Thursday, and hopefully by then they are 2/2 on on their way to final glory.

HUNGARIAN F1 GRAND PRIX

FRIDAY TO SUNDAY

It’s not just another ordinary Hungarian Grand Prix from the delightfully named Hungaroring, this one features, nay, headlines the return of Daniel Ricciardo.

The very popular F1 pilot has slightly less obscure this season without a drive than his second season at McLaren, but nevertheless he has been missed, and his beaming smile returns into the Alpha Tauri seat. How long that smile lasts with a car that is midfield at best remains to be seen.

Daniel Ricciardo won’t win this weekend, but he is a winner there in the past, and a Red Bull drive for 2024 is up for grabs so he needs to shine straight away and we will watch him do so.

Still, it’s nice to have something else to talk about other than Max Verstappen winning everything. Although how coincidental that Ricciardo returns just as his former team finally find some pace and his Australian replacement gets his best result.

The rise of McLaren was a welcome diversion from the norm last weekend, and we hope that uplift continues. This is also a good track for Lewis Hamilton in the past too. Plus a wet qualifying is possible, so that will rule out Sergio Perez. Lots to look forward to.

ASHES FOURTH TEST

WEDNESDAY TO SUNDAY

It has been a classic series so far, and the 2-1 series advantage to Australia looks thin. Like the edge from Warner off Broad. Cheap shot we know, and there’s another one coming with the exclusive GurglerBet option below.

Barring weather, the first ball is bowled tomorrow during prime time, not sure on the TV channel yet, but you can be rest assured the awful NRL serving of Dragons v Tigers will bump the cricket onto the outside channels on Thursday.

But given the action of the three previous tests, you’ll need plenty of stamina, cricket passion and potentially Red Bull to see out the five days. Or maybe Bazball is enough.

Either way, we can;t wait to see what comes flying at us next.

NRL

THURSDAY TO SUNDAY

State of Origin is finally over and now the NRL can resume its regular programming of eight games a week.

What a shame then that the first game of this weekend feature the teams that are arguably the worst in 2023.

But never fear there’s some great match ups later, especially on Friday where the in-form Warriors take on the in-form Canberra Raiders. Then later on South Sydney take on the Broncos on the Sunshine Coast.

The teams charging up the ladder meet in Townsville on Saturday night too as Parramatta meet North Queensland, which should also be a cracker.

Sunday features two games and all four teams from Sydney. Giving you comfort that the NRL has returned to normal.

THE GURGLERBET DRAW OF THE WEEK

Just because a game is tied doesn’t mean it is boring or you can’t make money from it. Well, it can still be boring in the greater context of the actual game being played, but not the tension that hanging on to a 0-0 for your bet gets you.

We get our leading draw expert and host of the Frankely Speaking podcast that focuses only on draws in football and the related betting on draws – Frankington Stanley. He has scoured the many football divisions from all over the world to provide his best draw option for you.

This week Frank supplies more draw gold.

For form, last week Frank sealed a double of Egyptian and African Football draws at $2.87 each. Ignore the draw at your peril.

CZECH FOOTBALL

MFK Chrudim – $2.75
