A new mobile game has been created specifically for picky gamers with low attention spans.
Noting how he easily got bored with ‘cut and paste’ mobile game, Peter decided to cater to that restless market with Five Minute Games.
Once downloaded, the app will randomly generate a new game at midnight every night. Once the player has played for five minutes (in a 24 hour period), the game is automatically deleted.
There’s a wide variety of games styles: including Picross, Sudoku, match 3, endless runners, paint by numbers, crosswords, word searches, Space Invaders-style shooting games etc
“I think the random, grab-bag style of games is perfect for bored gamers who want to kill a few minutes but can’t be bothered committing to a game once the novelty wears off,” said Peter.
Though some gamers have reached out to him, saying they’ve gotten into a game only to have the time run out, and wanted to keep playing. Peter is currently working on a small subscription service which allows gamers to play unlimited versions of all the games, provided they’ve already played the five minute version.
“I hate ‘freemium’ games, and didn’t want to make people spend money, but if certain players want to spend money to enjoy more features, then I’m not going to say no. The important thing is people who want to play the five minute versions can still do so for free.”
