2023 NRL Round 11 Stats Summary

  • It’s seven out of ten for teams winning in the first game post bye. Newcastle is the latest team to win in their first game after the bye. Canberra are on a three game winning run since their bye and are scoring 13 more points a game on average.
  • It is 100% for teams losing their first game after the bye and winnign the next, after Melbourne won on Thursday.
  • Talking of Thursday, Melbourne extended their run of unbeaten home games on a Friday against all opposition to 16.
  • Another run is the home team in Newcastle v Gold Coast games running out the winner. That count sits at 12 now.
  • Souths have kept a side pointless five times since 2020. Only Penrith (7) have done more since 2020.
  • Six losses in a row for the Dragons away from home. Ans six wins in a row for the Warriors over Bulldogs.
  • South Sydney are doing well – leading the competition and have won seven from seven for games v top eight teams
  • Parramatta in 14th have scored as many points as the competition leaders.
  • Gold Coast Titans are the worst this season for leading at half time and going on to lose the game (3). Three of Penrith’s four losses have come after being level at half time.

Note: that top and bottom teams are decided as such:

Ladder position is based on the ladder position of the opposition before each round starts. For Round 1 we used the final 2022 ladder position.

Top eight is any team in the top eight heading into the weekend.

Bottom eight is the bottom nine teams, and we forgot to change it from bottom eight in 2022.
