The 2023 NRL Season rolls on, and so does our stat-filled preview of the upcoming weekend of rugby league with our 2023 NRL Magic Round Tips Stats Preview + Alternative Tips.

Each week we offer up a quick preview glance for each match, a bunch of barely interesting stats, probably more than one could ever need or want.

We also offer up some alternative tips. These alternative tips are often based on a rugby league stat, and sometimes something completely absurd, and are aimed at those NRL tipsters who just can’t be bothered.

This week it’s all about Suncorp Stadium, much like the NRL itself.

2023 NRL Magic Round Barely Interesting Stats Summary

Here we take the best points of interest for each match coming up this weekend, and share them with you for no cost. Feel free to share with friends and family.

Canberra have won six straight against the Bulldogs.

Bulldogs have lost 11 games in a row at Suncorp Stadium. Their last win there was in 2015.

Despite having the worst record all teams at Suncorp Stadium since 2004, the Raiders have won three of their last six at the ground including a last start win over Brisbane.

Brisbane’s record at Suncorp Stadium as the away team in W5 L7. It’s W3 L3 on a Friday.

Brisbane have won three of their last four on a Friday against Manly, their loss was a 50-6 effort in 2021.

Penrith have won six straight against the Warriors.

Penrith have lost 2/4 away games this season.

Penrith have won 11 of their last 12 at Suncorp Stadium. Warriors have lost five of their last six.

Cronulla have won 14 of their last 17 against Qld opposition.

Cronulla have lost five of their last six at Suncorp Stadium, but have won four of their last five there on a Friday.

The Dolphins are unbeaten for home games on a Saturday.

Melbourne-South Sydney remains the most lop-sided games in the NRL. The Rabbitohs only win every four years and usually in a Football World Cup year.

South Sydney have beaten Melbourne just three times on a Saturday since 1998 – last season, in 2010 and 2004. They have failed to do so in ten attempts as the away side.

Souths have won 22 of their last 25 Saturday fixtures v all opposition.

South Sydney have won 13 straight on a Saturday in Queensland. Their last loss was in 2014 in Townsville.

The Wests Tigers have lost 18 in a row on a Sunday.

Dragons have lost six straight at Suncorp Stadium.

Roosters have won five straight v North Queensland with their last loss pre-dating Covid.

Roosters have won 15 of their last 17 v Qld opposition.

Roosters are 2/2 at Magic Weekend on a Sunday.

North Queensland are 0/2 v Sydney opposition this season.

Parramatta have won seven straight v Gold Coast.

Parramatta’s only Saturday game on Magic Weekend ended in a 64-10 loss to Melbourne.
