2023 NRL Round 5 Barely Interesting Stats Summary
Here we take the best points of interest for each match coming up this weekend, and share them with you for no cost. Feel free to share with friends and family.
Roosters have won eight straight home games v Parramatta with their last loss coming back in 2008. The Eels have scored more than 10 points just twice in that eight game run.
The Eels have won just three of their last 15 away to Sydney teams.
Parramatta have never scored a point against the Roosters in a Thursday night game.
Canberra have lost their last three games to Penrith in Canberra.
Canberra have won six straight at Canberra on a Friday night.
Penrith have now lost three of their last five away games. Although one of those was the last round rest-fest in Townsville.
Souths v Melbourne remains the most lop-sided fixture of the current NRL clubs.
South Sydney wins against Melbourne are Football World Cup-like. They come around once every four or so years and almost all in a World Cup year. Their last four wins – 2022, 2018, 2013, 2010.
Souths best record v Melbourne is at the Olympic Stadium where they have a 40% strike rate.
Manly are yet to concede a point in Mudgee.
Manly have won their last four home games on a Saturday v Newcastle and conceded 12 points in three of those games.
Dragons have won their last five games at Win Stadium. They have also won three straight there v Qld sides.
Since 2021, the Tigers have won more games at Suncorp Stadium than at Leichhardt and Campbelltown combined.
Wests Tigers have won their last three games v Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium.
Brisbane have won 23 of their 28 homes games on a Saturday v Sydney sides, but two of those five losses have been inflicted by the Wests Tigers.
Brisbane have also won 16 of their last 19 at home on a Saturday v all sides.
Wests Tigers have won six of their last nine v Queensland sides in Qld.
Cronulla have won all six home games v Warriors on a Sunday in NSW.
Cronulla have won 10 of their last 12 v Warriors.
Warriors have lost seven straight away games on a Sunday.
Cowboys have won six of their last seven away games v Bulldogs.
Cowboys have won their last four away games in Sydney on a Sunday.
