A Brisbane woman has found a new way to watch TV.
Ignoring the countless streaming services she pays a monthly subscription fee for, Sarah has started watching short clips of TV shows on Facebook.
“I have a busy full-time job, and often can’t be arsed picking something to zone out to when I get home,” she said. “One night I was scrolling Facebook and found this five-minute clip of an old Law and Order: SVU episode. I spent the rest of the night scrolling the Facebook Watch thingy watching all these little clips. The best things is the clips are the most dramatic or funniest from selected episodes, so it saves me wading through 20-60 minutes of a TV show to see the best bits.”
Sarah has maximised her viewing by ‘liking’ every TV page on Facebook she can think of. “There’s comedy, drama, and a bit of reality TV. It’s so much better than watching one whole show all the way through. This is 2023, if we don’t get our entertainment in short bursts, then what’s the point?”
