A famous American TV/movie star has told Everyday News Staff Writers about their pleasant trip to a local bookshop while filming in rural Australia.
“We’d had a busy morning of filming and I needed to clear my head, so I went to this cute little bookstore. It was so charming: it sold old books, CDs, and DVDs. And they had a little cafe too,” said the celebrity, who wished to remain anonymous.
Not wanting to be recognised, the celebrity wore a plain baggy blue hoodie (with the hoodie up) and thick sunglasses.
“I’m used to dodging the press back home, so I know how to disguise myself. Usually I’m happy to chat with my fans and take selfies when I’m out and about, but I needed some ‘me’ time.”
The disguise worked, as the celebrity was able to browse the store for 20 minutes before heading back to the film set.
“There was one guy who gave me a funny look, but he was actually looking at another guy who was behind me.”
The celebrity was happy to take a selfie of the guy and his friend.
“I assumed they were old friends, and the guy asked me really nicely, and thanked me afterwards, so I was happy to do it. Though I put on my best Australian accent so they wouldn’t recognise me. I think it worked.”
After buying some books, the celebrity kept their Australian accent for their coffee order and managed to stay anonymous.
“I think the cashiers and the young lady who made my coffee recognised me, but they were nice enough not to say anything. Maybe when the movie’s wrapped I’ll return with no disguise and do something nice for them.”
