A Brisbane man has used a boozy night out as inspiration to start a podcast.
After knocking off work last Friday, Darren and his best mate Michael (or ‘Macca’ to everyone else) went to their local for a few drinks.
As the night went on, ‘Dazza’ started firing off these brilliant podcast idea, busily writing them on his phone, and committed to starting at least one of them next week.
These ideas included podcasts about the Brisbane Broncos, cricket, the NBA, starting a small business, and DIY home renovation.
Macca was a bit more cynical about his mate’s ambitions.
“This happens every time we get on the piss. Dazza thinks he’s some you beaut podcast entrepreneur and has all these ideas,” said Macca. “I used to help a mate run a Simpsons pod, so I know how much work it can be. If Dazza actually showed any follow-through, then I’d be happy to help. But old mate’s flat out getting to footy training on time, let alone commit to a podcast! I’ve learnt to smile, agree with everything he says, and wait for the drunken enthusiasm to fade out.”
As expected, Dazza’s ambition was quashed the next day.
“I got a text from him about midday on Saturday, saying ‘F*** the poddy ideas – they’re all shit and I’m too f****** hungover. Gonna order some KFC instead,'” said Macca.
“Told ya!”
