After clashing with former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke, everyone’s ‘favourite’ dinosaur Buzz Rothfield has found another surprising target for his rants.
For reasons known only to the 1,000 year old Fox League ‘journalist’, he somehow managed to appear on the Welcome to our Show podcast, which is devoted to episode recaps of the New Girl sitcom and interviews with the show’s stars .
Seemingly unaware that he was talking the show’s hosts (and New Girl stars) Zooey Deschanel, Hannah Simone, and Lamorne Morris, Buzz went on a 10-minute rant – with topics including:
- The Bunker is destroying rugby league
- most NRL referees are dangerously incompetent
- State of Origin is dead and International football is a joke
- Peter V’landys has made the game worse
- and the Wests Tigers are the worst team in Australian rugby league history and should be relocated to Perth.
“We would have cut him off earlier,” said Simone, “but Zooey, Lamorne, and I were too busy laughing. We had no idea what he was talking about, but he just kept going and going. We’re guilty of going on wild tangents on the podcast, but this was next level! He was a strange old man.”
Eventually, Buzz realised that he wasn’t being taken seriously and fired back with, “This is a gee-up! You know nothing about rugby league! How many NRL games have you three played?” before hanging up.
Buzz was up to his old tricks a few hours later, somehow managing to call the Always Sunny podcast, ready for another rant. But he was quickly told to piss off by the show’s hosts Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, and Rob McElhenney, as they were in the middle of a long-winded story about parking spaces.
