Here we take the best points of interest for each match coming up this weekend, and share them with you for no cost. Feel free to share with friends and family.
Panthers v Eels
Only Parramatta (3) and Melbourne (2) have beaten Penrith more than once since Covid. Other finals contenders South Sydney, Cronulla and North Qld have beat them once. Only the Wests Tigers have beaten Penrith from outside this year’s final eight.
Parramatta have won the last two matches v Penrith as most people know, but also, both games were on a Friday.
Parramatta are 5/6 on a Friday this season. Penrith are 8/10.
Penrith have won two of their last five against this year’s finalists. Parramatta have won two of their last four.
Penrith are 5/7 at home to finals contenders this season. Parramatta are 3/6 away.
Storm v Raiders
Canberra have won the last four games at AAMI Park. Three of those have been on a Saturday.
Melbourne have only won two of their last seven matches at AAMI Park on a Saturday.
For all of Canberra’s good work at AAMI Park, they have lost the last three Saturday clashes with Melbourne.
Good news for Raiders fans. The last time Melbourne were in a knockout match the first week of finals they were knocked out (in 2014). And by the team who made the Grand Finals (Bulldogs).
Sharks v Cowboys
Cronulla have won eight straight v North Queensland.
Cronulla have also won six straight v North Qld on a Saturday (last loss in 2016).
The Sharks have also won eight of their last nine at home to the Cowboys. And 13 of 15 for games at home v Cowboys on a Saturday night going back to 1998.
Cronulla have not lost to a Qld side in NSW since Covid (5 matches).
North Queensland have lost both away games against Sydney sides on a Saturday this season.
Nicho Hynes has only lost one games of 12 v Qld opposition.
Roosters v Rabbitohs
The last three times the Roosters and Rabbitohs have faced off in the finals the winner has gone on to win the Premiership.
Roosters have a 7-3 H2H advantage for games v Souths in September. They have also won all five games in September when they were the home side.
Souths have won the last two clashes between these sides on a Sunday at the Football Stadium by a healthy 94-22. However the Roosters hold a 6-3 overall record on a Sunday since 1998.
Roosters have won five in a row v Sydney opposition on a Sunday and 15 of their last 17.
