What a week of NRL action it was, star performances, hard working players giving it their all, and the finalists decided for 2022. Despite the high tension of who finishes where, we dive into who were the players that were the best of the best this week in the NRL. Let our NRL Round 25 Team of the Week explain.

So we’ve used the stats for each position and picked the best starting 13 players from the most recent round, the stats and points assigned are explained at the end.

On top of the best starting 13, we include the best four interchange players of the week. Seeing who has provided maximum impact from the bench.

The surprise is so many players from teams that lost, but that’s stats for you. No emotion, just numbers. Although you do wonder how two Broncos can make the team of the week and then they surrendered so meekly against the Dragons.

A FEW BARELY INTERESTING STATS:

  • Ten players ran for 200 metres or more this week, it is not weekly record though, that was Round 12 where 14 players ran for 200 metres or more.
  • Three of the top four players for Post Contact metres came from the Broncos this round, it was the 12th best total for a team (762m) in a single match this season. The record is the Rabbitohs in Round 22 against Parramatta (836m)
  • Only James Tedesco (40) has made more tackle breaks than the Sharks’ Lachlan Miller (39) in the last five rounds.
  • The Warriors missed 59 tackles this weekend, it was the second hghest match total by a team this season, behind the Broncos’ dismal effort v Melbourne a few weeks ago. The Warriors also hold the third worst match total, which was the previous weekend.
