The finals are fast approaching, and so NRL tipsters everywhere need more help than ever to pick a winner or eight. So here are our bold NRL Round 24 Tips and Stats Preview that will concede as many points as the Tigers.
Each week we offer up a quick preview glance for each match, a bunch of barely interesting stats, probably more than one could ever need or want.
We also offer up some alternative tips. These alternative tips are often based on a rugby league stat, and sometimes something completely absurd, and are aimed at those NRL tipsters who just can’t be bothered.
After a record breaking weekend for points, this week we have based them on points against for 2022. More on that later.

2022 NRL Round 24 Tips – Alternative Tips – Most Points Conceded
Short on inspiration already? Or looking for that edge to your tipping that no one else in your competition has? Well here are the Alternative NRL Tips for this round.
It’s been a long season and we had started to run out of ideas for an alternative tip. But the floggings from NRL Round 23 has given us an idea.
We took found the highest amount of points each team conceded in a single game this season, and whichever team has the lesser max points conceded total gets this week’s tip.
E.g. the biggest score Tigers conceded this season was 72 and their opponent this weekend is the Dragons whose highest points conceded this season is 54. So Dragons would get the tip. And so on.

2022 NRL Round 24 Barely Interesting Stats Summary
Here we take the best points of interest for each match coming up this weekend, and share them with you for no cost. Feel free to share with friends and family.
Broncos have won just one game at home on a Thursday since Covid – that was a last start win against the Sharks.
Parramatta have lost their last three Thursday night games.
Penrith have won five straight v Warriors. But the Warriors have won the last game between these sides at Penrith Stadium – in 2019.
Friday is Penrith’s worst day for winning % since their golden run started in 2020. It is still 81% mind you. For the record Thursday is 89%, Sunday 93% and Saturday 95%.
Melbourne are on a five game winning run v Roosters. The Roosters haven’t beaten the Storm since Covid.
Melbourne have won seven of the nine Friday clashes with the Roosters
Melbourne have won 14 Friday games in a row, and 15 of 16 since 2020. The Storm average 35.4 points per game in attacked and concede at just 11 points in that 14 game run. The Roosters have won just eight of 18 on a Friday since 2020.
Roosters have scored 78 more points than the next best team since Round 18. For the record it is 254 points at 42 points a game.
Canberra have won just two of their last ten matches v Manly. They have also won just two of their last 11 home games v Manly going back to 2005.
Canberra last beat Manly at home in August back in 1998. It’s been four losses in a row since.
Canberra have won all six home games v bottom eight teams this season. (Bottom Eight at time of match).
Despite conceding 72 points against the Roosters last weekend, the Wests Tigers are only equal worst for points conceded since Round 20. They share the “top spot” with Manly. Round 20 being the controversial Rainbow jersey round.
Sharks have won five of six home games this season against Sydney clubs.
Bulldogs have won just two of 19 games on a Saturday since 2020. But at least one of those two wins was against Cronulla.
Souths are on a six game winning streak v North Queensland. But the Cowboys have won the last two games at the Olympic Stadium
South Sydney have lost just two games of their last 20 on a Saturday.
The Rabbitohs have won their last 12 home games on a Saturday. Nor have they lost the nine games at the Olympic Stadium on a Saturday since Covid.
The Cowboys have lost seven straight away to Sydney teams in NSW on a Saturday. Their last win was in 2017.
Wests Tigers have won four of the last five matches v Dragons, just not the last one back in May this year.
Wests Tigers have lost 12 Sunday games in a row. Including all ten this season.
Wests Tigers have a better win % this season against top eight sides (at time of match) than bottom eight teams.
Newcastle have lost 16 away games in a row v Queensland sides. Their last win was in March 2015 at CBUS Stadium and on a Sunday.
Newcastle are 2/9 for Sunday games this season. Gold Coast are 1/5.
