An anti-social man has learnt to communicate entirely in GIFs through various social media platforms.
Peter has built up a library of GIFs from his favourite TV shows (mainly New Girl, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and The Simpsons) on his phone. He uses these GIFs to talk to his friends, rather than using actual words.
“My favourite one is Krysten Ritter’s eye roll GIF from Jessica Jones. That gets heavy use during the latest NRL scandal, which is at least three times a week,” Peter told our Everyday News Staff Writers via Facebook Messenger as he refused to speak to us on the phone.
“I also have a nice library of Zooey Deschanel pulling funny faces, Charlie Day eating cheese, and about a hundred Simpsons GIFs, because there’s a Simpsons GIF for almost every situation. But only for Facebook and Twitter: Instagram is too glitzy for me and TikTok is full of raging narcissists!”
“He’s gotten quite good at using the perfect GIF to sum up a situation,” said his mate Adam. “The poor bugger’s been living alone since the divorce and has a mind-numbingly boring data entry job, so he has a lot of time to devote to his GIFs. I guess the creativity make him happy, but we’re trying to get him out for a boys’ night and get him on the horse again.”
Everyday News is a brand new general news/parody section of The Gurgler, and definitely not a lame rip-off of ‘The Betoota Advocate’. We swear.
