A heavily hyped mobile app has proved disappointing.
Based on the glitzy TikTok-style ads shown in other mobile games, Play + Earn promised that gamers could earn an abundance of gift cards for playing their favourite mobile game.
But one former Play + Earn user wasn’t impressed.
“It was ok at first, earning a few dollars here and there, but to get the big rewards you had to complete impossible missions on boring games,” said Peter. “It got to the point where I was playing these bloody games all day, which killed my battery. One Friday night I stayed up until 3am trying to complete a mission, and still missed out. That’s when I decided it wasn’t worth it, so I uninstalled the app and went to sleep. I thought about cashing out my gift cards, but I’d only earnt $5, so I didn’t bother.
“I have fond memories of marathon gaming sessions with my mates, but they were proper console games, not garbage mobile games that are lazy cash-ins of a thousand other games! They probably spent all their money on their fancy ad campaign and didn’t care about the actual app. Greedy bastards!”
