Welcome to our weekly look at the upcoming weekend of NRL and your best companion for all the action is our Round 12 Predictions Stats Preview + Alternative Tips.
Each week we offer up a quick preview glance for each match, a bunch of barely interesting stats which seem to be growing every week, our own Form-O-Meter on which side is hot and not, and our own thoughts on who will win.
We also offer up some alternative tips. These alternative tips are often based on a rugby league stat, and sometimes something completely absurd, and are aimed at those NRL tipsters who just can’t be bothered.
This week we are desperately trying to squeeze out one more lot of election based tipping. More on that soon.
So enjoy the 2022 NRL Round 12 Predictions Stats Preview + Alternative Tips where there’s something for everyone. Mostly.
2022 NRL Round 12 Predictions – Alternative Tips – Distance from Teal or Green on the Colour Wheel
Short on inspiration already? Or looking for that edge to your tipping that no one else in your competition has? Well here are the Alternative NRL Tips for this round.
With the election making big news last Saturday, this week’s alternative tips are based on the election for one last time. Yes, we did promise last week would be the last one, but since it’s politics we don’t have to live up to that promise.
With the big results at the election from the three states where NRL teams play, being either Teal Independents or Greens, we’ve decided to use those colours this week.
You may ask how the hell that works, and we’re glad you asked. We found an official colour wheel, and our theory is the closest the NRL team’s main colour is to either Teal or Green the more popular they’ll be right now, and so that will make them play better and win.
Simples. Here are the tips anyways.
And here’s a colour wheel for reference.
- * Warriors are predominantly blue and green (at the moment) so that beats Newcastle’s Blue and Red on preferences.

Here we take the best points of interest for each match coming up this weekend, and share them with you for no cost. Feel free to share with friends and family.
Melbourne may be on a run of five straight wins v Manly, but the Sea Eagles have won the last two fixtures at AAMI Park, and four of the last six.
Melbourne haven’t lost three in a row since 2015.
North Queensland have scored exactly 36 points in their last three games. And 35 in the game before that.
North Queensland have lost six in a row v Sydney teams on a Friday.
Queensland may have had their borders closed during a lot of Covid, but Penrith have closed the borders to Queensland teams beating them in the NRL since Covid begun. Broncos have only won two of their last eight v fellow Queensland sides.
The NZ Warriors are still unbeaten at their new home ground at Redcliffe. The last two wins have come courtesy of two field goals.
Newcastle have lost three in a row v Queensland clubs, and have conceded 36, 34, and 35 points in those games.
South Sydney have lost just one of their last 14 games on a Saturday.
Roosters have won six straight v Sharks. Cronulla have won five straight v Sydney teams.
Canberra have won four straight v Parramatta on a Sunday, the Eels last win on a Sunday coming in 2005.
2022 NRL Round 12 NRL Team Form O Meter
We have our own in-house way of measuring which team is going the best based on a bunch of available stats. Like Run Metres, Line Breaks, Tackle Busts, Tries, Goals, Errors, Tackles, Post Contact Metres and more.
We have also taken it to the next level with an average of the 2022 season score and last five rounds. Although, even we’re starting to doubt it given how bad Souths have played the last two weeks.
