Charles Leclerc leads this with his almost perfect start to the season and like the actual championship he holds a massive lead of over one race’s maximum points already.

Max Verstappen remains second thanks to his all round quality, even if he has been unlucky. And the surprise Esteban Ocon remains third

A couple of drivers staring down the barrel of a 2022 season spanking. Carlos Sainz may turn it around, but can’t see that happening for Nicholas Latifi.

QUALIFYING

The qualifying packs are starting to thin out just a little with Carlos Sainz’s Australian Grand Prix 9th hurting his averages at the moment.

The midfield battle is pretty tight with Mercedes v Alpine the battle of choice, with added McLaren and Bottas.

FIRST LAP POSITION GAINS

Bottas is up to his 2021 tricks with a negative return for places made up from the grid. But at least it has been neutral the last two races.

New boy Zhou is at the bottom of the list though, with a solid -10 from his first two starts.

Alpha Tauri drivers are leading the way for first lap progress, but that is because they are starting from further back on the grid than last season. Same for Lewis Hamilton.
