The 2022 NRL season isn’t far away, and while the important things are discussed like who will win, bold predictions, and who won’t win the title, we feel the 2022 NRL Jerseys is just as important.
There’s a lot of money in jerseys, and the NRL has always placed great importance on them. Remember the terribly biased and uber-commercial ISC Super Hero round just for teams with ISC kits? Or the good old days where the Warriors and the Tigers would go head to head in arms race for most NRL jerseys presented per season?
It’s important to look good in addition to playing good, or if you are playing terrible at least you look good doing so.
So before a ball is kicked in anger, we go through the 2022 NRL Jerseys and rank them.

2022 NRL Jerseys Ranked
1 – MANLY-WARRINGAH SEA EAGLES
Classic jersey with a not so subtle nod to the past. Instead of hiding their classic kits to a once a year outing for heritage round, Manly quite rightly have their old standard on display all season.
We think the away looks even better than the home jersey, so have that one supplied above.
2 CRONULLA SHARKS
Cronulla are looking to get back on track in 2022, and that started with some good on field signings, and has continued off field to their 2022 jersey.
Like Manly both jerseys are great, but their mostly black away is second best this season.
We wonder which one Scomo will go with this season. He’ll probably just settle for a cap. And a smirk.
3 NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS
The Warriors continue with the original 1995 colours, and we think it is a quality offering this season.
Of course at this stage you can throw in the oft-used joke of multiple jerseys, but their number one is number three for us this season.
We are hoping that if there are a few jerseys this season, that the Warriors unveil a red number is honour of their temporary home this season in Redcliffe. The red matches Vodafone so all boxes are ticked.
4 SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS
It’s hard for a South jersey to look bad, given they never really change it, and so the 2022 NRL jersey is another safe but good offering.
The new sponsor on the front looks better than previous, and love the alternating trim colours as ever along with the sponsor also changing colour.
The pic above too has a smiling and fit Cameron Murray, which adds a point or two for Souths fans.
5 PENRITH PANTHERS
Well Penrith can’t win everything, but the 2022 NRL jersey still looks good. A great mix of a nod to the past but jazzed up for the modern era.
No doubt this jersey will be declared arrogant early in the season.
6 WESTS TIGERS
The cheap shot joke here would have been to put the Tigers 9th, but we’re not that cheap. This time.
Some Wests Tigers jerseys have been way too complicated in the past, so this looks good to us for 2022.
Rumours that Fox Sports had a say in the design to look better for the new season of Tiger Town are unconfirmed.
7 CANTERBURY BULLDOGS
Similar to the above, it’s a simplified Bulldogs jersey for 2022, and we say that works for us.
A first step towards removing themselves off the bottom of the ladder with a good kit.
8 PARRAMATTA EELS
We’re still not sure if we like this jersey or not, so we threw it straight in the middle of non decision. Much like The Bunker from time to time.
9 ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS
Like South Sydney, the Dragons have a distinctive design that requires no great change every season.
Unlike South Sydney the sponsor seems to get in the way of the their jersey. An incomplete V just looks not as good.
It looks like the Big Red V has a trendy beatnik goatee.
10 GOLD COAST TITANS
It makes sense with the golden beaches of the Gold Coast to have a big yellow stripe across the chest, but it could have been graduated a bit better.
The sponsor logo doesn’t help either.
They could have designed something that made their new logo, which looks really good, to feature more.
11 BRISBANE BRONCOS
At least 11th is a step up for the Broncos.
The 2022 jersey has too much maroon and not enough yellow. The Broncos aren’t the only Queensland team.
The KIA logo sucks in general, and looks no better on an NRL jersey.
12 NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS
This may have been interesting, with the shape of the jersey looking like the shape of Knight’s helmet. But we can’t get past the big green logo on the front of the jersey which looks badly out of place.
13 NORTH QLD COWBOYS
Looks like something you’d see at a DFO outlet sale box out the front.
Pity, the away jersey looks so much better.
14 CANBERRA RAIDERS
Looks terrible in general, but when they have the outstanding heritage jersey on offer, why would you use the one above.
Fair enough to introduce another colour, but charcoal grey or smokey black, or whatever the hell it is?
And the sponsors logo looks awkward and seals the deal for the worst of the 2022 NRL jerseys.
