Last season it boiled down to Salah v Bruno but not many anymore. Throw in a Lukaku or Ronaldo, and there’s still Harry Kane to be woken up. That might just happen this weekend.

FPL Captain Picks GW6 Analysis
Mo Salah tops our Captain’s Table this week and why wouldn’t he on current form and returns. Some may be put off by the big game v Man City but Salah has a good record against them – 6 Goals and 2 Assists in 12 meetings. Liverpool at home too. Before last season’s loss to Man City, Liverpool had not lost at home to Man City since 2003, scoring three goals or more in 50% of those games.
Cristiano Ronaldo is second in our table, and has a good scoring record v Everton. And he’s a much better chance of taking penalties this weekend. Ronaldo has been fun since he returned, but FPL owners are starting to get as nervous as Man Utd fans are about their team winning the title. But still, it is Cristiano Ronaldo. The missed penalty may be the final nail for many an FPL player for Bruno Fernandes.
Romelu Lukaku hasn’t score in his last two games now, with Man City shutting down his Chelsea side and offering him not much last weekend. He should find Southampton at home a little easier, although the Saints did keep Man City scoreless away recently. Lukaku has a goal + assist a game v Southampton.
Manchester City have so many options and more big names which makes choosing any of them in your side let alone captain a very hard task. Gabriel Jesus is the pick of them according to our Captain’s Table and he has been great this season. He is also more likely to start than others under Pep.
You can’t talk FPL Captain without Michail Antonio. He was back and among the FPL points last weekend. His confidence and FPL point scoring isn’t in doubt, but they play Brentford who have been hard to score against. Well, before the 3-3 exploded out of nowhere last weekend v Brentford.
If you are scared off and Liverpool or Man City players, there’s a great supporting cast of left field options. Jamie Vardy is on a scoring streak as he does from time to time. Ismaila Sarr is in form too. Even the Spurs duo of Son and Kane could be worth considering if you have them. Last weekend’s spanking by Arsenal may spring the Spurs duo into action, and both have excellent scoring records v Aston Villa.
TOP TEN CAPTAIN PICKS STATS
For your consideration are the below key stats from last season’s FPL for the Top Ten players from our Captain’s Table. Well eleven this time as TAA may be out.
FPL Captain Picks GW6 Final Say
HELLO – Romelu Lukaku – Man City did a number on Chelsea last weekend and Lukaku can turn it around this weekend.
CALL ME MAYBE – Ismaila Sarr – Want a real left field choice? Why not Watford’s Sarr. Good current stats and form, and playing a Leeds side who are conceded the occasional goal or two.
GOODBYE – Man City Players – Just too hard to work out what Pep will get up to facing Liverpool, so it is not worth the headache trying to work him out.
