A quarter of the way through 2021 and we still have Coronavirus, and sadly for the world another fresh batch of March 2021 Jerk of the Month nominations.
But, there is some good news, a certain ex-President is not among the month’s biggest jerks. So maybe things are on the improve. Although after January 6 he’ll be hard to beat for the annual prize.
That could be debated if you can make it through the dross that is up for the month’s big jerk award.

Still going strong infecting people, leading to way too many deaths, and causing the world to continue with lockdowns.
And it isn’t going away quickly.

Why have they been such a jerk this month?
He could be nominated for being in charge of a party which seems to be imploding with ordinary behaviour and looking like a substitute teacher trying to control an unruly class. And his tremendous reaction to the Women’s march.
Or his handling of the Brittany Higgins case.
Or the ordinary rollout of the vaccines where the states are blamed as much as possible.
Or for going into the winners dressing room after hey had beaten your own team.
All of that applies.
But the real reason he is nominated for Jerk of the Month, is his quickness to tears or sadness which feels as genuine as Ronex watch or Sorny Walkman. And if the crocodile tears don’t work, just mention the wife and kids.
He got lucky with a perceived well handled effort with Covid but let’s not forget that the states did everything, and all he did was abuse the ALP based states when something didn’t look Liberal party enough. Then there’s the tremendous Covid app. Then there’s claiming success by allowing millions of people to short their retirement thanks to Early Release, stuffing Superannuation in the process like a good Liberal Party politician.
And we should never forget his handling of the bushfires before that.
The only thing that has saved him is the perception of success in handling Coronavirus for Australia. With that not distracting the nation as it has previously, the punchable smirk and crocodile tears return.

ANDREW LAMING

And politicians occasionally wonder why people don’t really like them or at least don’t trust them.
Laming is nominated this month for his alleged online bullying and trolling of people in his electorate.
He was made to apologise and did so with the sincerity of a scolded rugby league player who may have drunk their own piss but half as believable.
Then we find out there are more allegations, this time that he is exactly what women don’t want as a politician according to this story.

Woeful reality TV tripe – don’t call it a social experiment.

Participants, producers, sponsors, anyone involved should all be ashamed.
This flagship Channel Nein seems to take the worst of everything reality TV and combine for this garbage.

ANTI-VAXXERS

Anti Vaxxers have been assembling for protests around the country against a vaccine that isn’t compulsory except in certain circumstances. And well before it has started to be rolled out. One wonders how they managed to stretch their budget to include data for posting shit on Facebook, consuming drugs and the fuel to get from northern NSW and hopefully back.
Their slogans range is as amusing as it is full of wisdom, with spurious claims ruining the 90 cent cardboard bought at the local newsagent. With as much intelligence as a January 6 riot, Trump rally or NRL Mad Monday.
Given the slender wedge of these people, once the vaccine is rolled out across the country to normal Australians, there should be enough herd immunity that these people can continue protesting and making no difference. If it were making a difference now.

Going on TV with Oprah to moan about the harsh treatment of being a royal and paid to do work. You know, work. Like standing at an opening of the wing of a new form of art, or talking to a few people and nodding politely and/or shaking hands back when you could while accepting gifts,
They’ll just have to do with all the millions of dollars they already have, plus the scraps of a massive TV deal and other potential endorsements. Meanwhile Coronavirus sucks.
OK, we don’t agree with the racist slur of their baby Archie if true, and the press must be suffocating, although their post Royal media work makes that look like a little tenuous, but the rest couldn’t be anymore meh.

Every few days there will be an article about Covid in the waste water of a certain area, and usually with terms like Warning, Deadly, or threat.
It is easy to find for people that get their news from outside that this isn’t dangerous as traces of Covid can last for a long time after in the waste water.
Zero have led to new infections.
Perhaps the poo swimming event is not a part of Tokyo after all, so those few who do and are in danger of swallowing Covid with their feces will be dissapointed.

It’s hard enough working your arse off at home in this current climate, if you’re lucky enough to still be fully employed, without having to deal with piece of sh!t technology.
Be it a crappy internet connection because of the Government shit NBN rollout, or keyboard where the enter key is stuck, wireless mouse that has stopped working, or a laptop that simply breaks down once a day.
At least the PC has a sense of mischief and humour as you can never quite tell what time of day the breakdown will happen. Usually when you have the most work to lose.
