The most pointless Gameweek of the season is here, but despite the lack of games our FPL Captain Tips Gameweek 29 is here for your consideration.
And when we say pointless, we mean doing a Captains Table with the teams on offer and suggesting anyone other than Harry Kane. But we’ll push on regardless as there’s more than just who to pick as captain.
Each week we compile a bunch of stats and come up with the best of the best for FPL players to consider wearing the armband, and to help form the rest of the side.
There’s loads of general FPL stats on offer as well. Kings of Assists, those creating the best chances, shots on target and more. Splitting between all season and from GW20 for FPL trends.
So enjoy our FPL Captain Tips Gameweek 29 and more.

FPL Captain Tips Gameweek 29 – CAPTAIN’S TABLE
Here we assemble the finest stats we can think of to get the best picture of who should wear the armband for your team.
It is a mix of current FPL form, historical goal scoring and assist form v opponents, relative FPL performance per their cost and points scored per minute. And this week we have taken some key stats found below (Chances, Key Passes, Touches inside Penalty Area, Shots on Target) and divided by the number of games.
Each category is given a weighting, and points assigned relative to that high point. Each category score is totaled for he final score.
The final is out of 100, with the no double game weeks, it makes the decision a little tougher than usual.
THE VERDICT
It looks obvious doesn’t it, Harry Kane for captain playing against an Aston Villa side not going very well. But he has just played 120 minutes in the Europa League and has the trip back and a game on Sunday. Surely Jose will play him, but what sort of shape will he be in?
His team mate Gareth Bale is also around the top choices of the Captains Table this week, but there is always doubt whether he will play, and more so whether his recent boost in form was just a flash in the pan. Much like Jose’s management at Spurs. We’re not even tempted to bring him into the side so it’s a captains no from us.
Spurs do have a sensational record v Aston Villa in the last few decades and especially on a Sunday.
Jesse Lingard is an excellent differential to Kane, and he was even given the luxury of a week off thanks to his paymasters at Man Utd. Fair to say West Ham weren’t as good without him. And with arsenal big on red cards there’s always a chance for free kicks and penalties to convert. The worry is if West Ham have peaked, and the team/manager record v Arsenal is poor. West Ham have won 2/22 v Arsenal since 2010, and David Moyes 4/35 v Arsenal.
Speaking of Arsenal you have Aubameyang and Lacazette as good choices based on the Arsenal stats above. Lacazette also tops this week’s most goals/assists v opposition. After Aubameyang was benched v Spurs the big question is whether he will play at all, and a full Europa game on Thursday won’t help. No Europa League minutes for Lacazette gives you a hint on which one of these to take if you’re interested.
Rounding off the magnificent seven is Leeds’ duo Raphinha and Patrick Bamford. They are away to Fulham, and both offer plenty personally as per the stats below. Leeds games away from home this year have produced the most goals, and the last three Fulham v Leeds games have featured three or more goals. Including the 4-3 earlier this season. Given Patrick Bamford can waste a few chances, why not look to Raphinha for something different from the Kane gang.
FINAL VERDICT – Harry Kane to copy everyone else. Left field Raphinha
