FPL Captain Tips Gameweek 21 – CAPTAIN’S TABLE
Here we assemble the finest stats we can think of to get the best picture of who should wear the armband for your team.
It is a mix of current FPL form, historical goal scoring and assist form v opponents, relative FPL performance per their cost and the difficulty of their upcoming game designed by our in house difficulty ratings system.
Each category is given a weighting, and points assigned relative to that high point. Each category score is totaled for he final score.
The final score is out of 100, with that high mark being a rare occurrence of aligning suns, moons and planets of FPL.
THE VERDICT
After the Captain’s Table nailed our table topper Ilkay Gundogan for GW20, who are we to argue against him doing it again. Playing similarly low lying opposition at home in Sheffield Utd who rarely score or win at Manchester City. Although their midweek upset may spring them into action this weekend.
Phil Foden is the next best, and is worth including into a FPL team for the match reasons above. Foden continues to look good without the big haul of points, but for us it is just a matter of time. If he starts…..
Jack Grealish is the big mover in this group and up to third best according to our Captain’s table. This is helped by recent stats and a healthy return against Saints, including a bag of points from the game earlier in the season where Villa lost 4-3 at home.
Son is next up but an average record v Liverpool and doubt how Spurs will play without Kane is the worry. Although Son has a great record without Kane, the duo have been so good this season it is still a question mark.
Bruno Fernandes is taken on trust given Man Utd’s poor showing v Sheffield Utd. But Utd are away from home.
Michail Antonio is a left field selection looking at the fixture, but look at Antonio’s return against Liverpool. The West Ham forward’s form since injury return has been very solid. Mo Salah has an even better record against West Ham, but the recent drought and the fact this game is away is the worry.
Our Selection – Gundogan or Grealish
