FPL Fixture Difficulty – Remainder of 20-21 Season

It’s all good to know the next three or six games, but why not look at the rest of the season.

Keep it as a resource for all of the games to come.

There’s even an average of match difficulty for the rest of the season.

This will be updated each week as results change scores.

FPL Fixture Difficulty – Relegation Special

With the title race all but over, and the European places battle not as much fun as the other end of the table (for neutrals) it’s time to look at who may go down this season.

It looks like Fulham are reasonably certain to go down if you look at the points gap, but the relative performances and results of the five teams above mean that it may not be all over yet.

So we have taken the fixture difficulty scores for the six sides we think are playing for the final spot in the Championship. Plus threw in a few stats so you can see the current points and the recent form. Recent form being a bad story for Southampton. Maybe like last year they will turn it around after a 9-0 thrashing.

For the purposes of this we are saying West Brom and Sheffield Utd can’t survive. Who knows, maybe they can.

FPL Fixture Difficulty – Difficulty Expected Points v Actual Points

Wondered how our difficulty rating works in the real world with real points?

Well we determined expected points from our Difficulty Rating, by using when the gap between the ratings or either side is large enough to expect a certain result, or a draw if the numbers are close enough.

So below are the total of what our rating say each team should have scored, and the actual.

Of course the top teams are underperforming slightly in this strange season, Liverpool’s recent drop in form has seen their expected points drop quickly.

The expected points to actual points we got right.

FPL Fixture Difficulty – FPL Captain Analysis

The below table has our rating out of ten for each premium player for the 20-21 season ahead.

This comes from our earlier look into FPL Captains, and is a guide to long term planning for FPL.

A weekly Captain’s Table will come out each week to suggest the player for the armband for your team.

The 20-21 FPL Captain Analysis – Home v Away

Some players seem to be better at home than away, and on the rare occasion, the other way.

So to assist you, the canny FPL player, we have a table of when each of our premium players are playing home and away this season.

Manchester clubs seem to dovetail home and away nicely, so a KDB /. Bruno Fernandes pairing looks a solid combination for FPL Captain swapping.

The 20-21 FPL Captain Analysis – Goals Home or Away

Going one step further to the above we have each players goal scoring record for their career both home and away.

We haven’t included assists yet.

Some interesting results too.

A few surprises with players scoring on the road. TAA doesn’t score many goals so is a smaller pool.

Mahrez scores away as it is usually the only time Pep starts him.

The two Liverpool heavyweights lean towards home scoring, so rotating them at home with maybe a Bruno or Vardy away could be a sound  FPL captain rotation idea.
