Another week wasted by the International break, and this seemed more of a waste than usual with Covid-19 outbreaks everywhere, and key footballers going down. Still, the 2020-2021 Premier League Predictions Week 9 and Preview is ready.
Our preview ambles through all ten Premier League fixtures, with a bunch of visuals, stats and figures for some barely interesting reading. And if that isn’t enough, we throw in our 2020-21 Premier League Week 9 Predictions for each game.

H2H stats are for all time unless stated, and other stats are based on last season.
This week we have included a new prediction feature based on a bunch of stats, which are explained at the end to save you time now.
SATURDAY GAMES
NEWCASTLE v CHELSEA

Why Newcastle can win
Newcastle have an OK record v Chelsea at home. The Magpies have won five of the last seven games at St James Park and Chelsea have won just once.
Chelsea have not won a Saturday game in Newcastle on their last five attempts.
Newcastle have won four of the six league games at St James’ Park in November.
Newcastle won the last time they played at home to a team that wear a blue home kit.
They have a 100% record at home to top six sides this season.
Why Chelsea can win.
Chelsea have twice the shots on target than Newcastle this season.
Chelsea have many attacking options. Newcastle’s leading striker Callum Wilson is in doubt. But they still have the Max. Hakim Ziyech is starting to come good, and Timo Werner scored during the midweek international fixtures.

Four of the last five times Chelsea have won the away game at Newcastle they have won the FA Cup that season or the next. The most recent win in August 2018 was a few months after their last FA Cup triumph.

Why Aston Villa can win
Brighton haven’t beaten Aston Villa since 1980.
Aston Villa have Jack Grealish, who is the second highest rated player in the Premier League this season according to Who Scored. Ollie Watkins is fifth for the record.
Despite playing OK and being competitive in most games, Brighton have still only won one game.
Why Brighton can win.
Brighton’s xG and Shots on Goal are reasonably even. Aston Villa have more on target which is why they’ve scored seven more goals this season.
Aston Villa have lost their past two home games and conceded seven goals. The same number of goals they got past Liverpool earlier in the season.

Brighton have never beaten Aston Villa away in 12 attempts. Three draws is their best effort.

Can Brighton beat Aston Villa for the first time in 40 years. Jack Grealish is also worth a look always.

Why Spurs can win
Because Jose Mourinho loves the big games and poking Pep in the eye.
Man City might have more shots, but Spurs have more shots on target per game. Their 48.55% on target effort is pretty decent too. Spurs are five goals ahead in xG too.
Spurs have won the last two home matches v Man City, and they haven’t conceded in either of those two.
Why Man City can win.
Spurs haven’t been as impressive at home like they have been away this season.
