Alternative Week 1 Premier League Predictions 20-21 – Gurgler v First Day Form

After the longest ever season, and equally shortest off season, the English Premier League is back for the new 2020-21 season, and our alternative tipping method for picking winners is back with the Alternative Week 1 Premier League Predictions

This continues our alternative way of selecting Premier League winners from last season. Some of them based on football stats, and some have a very obscure link to football or news events of that week.

It makes sense to use first day form as the way to pick winners this weekend, and we have taken the last ten seasons of first day results to determine the Alternative Week 1 Premier League Predictions.

We’ll keep a record on each different alternative method to pick Premier League winners, as well as monitor our tips against them

Alternative Week 1 Premier League Predictions – Last Day Form

Since it is the first day, we thought it would be interesting to see who performs best on the first day of the season.

See who is best under the pressure of the new season, where the expectations are at their highest.

To determine the winning alternative tip is easy. We took the first day form from the last 10 seasons, and work out the average points scored.

Whichever team has the higher average points on the first day from the last 10 seasons is more likely to win this weekend. We say anyway.

Simples.

Man City are on top of the league…is it an omen for the season ahead…

Well not this week as they have the weekend off.

Newcastle look like slow starters, and Crystal Palace can pick up where they left off 2019-20.

Amazingly, the only two teams with the exact same score play each other.

Our Week 1 Premier League Predictions

Fulham 1 Arsenal 3
West Ham 3 Newcastle 0
Crystal Palace 1 Southampton 1
Liverpool 2 Leeds 1
Leicester 0 West Brom 0
