Another Premier League season is not far away, or already here depending on when you read this, and as ever there will be a number of Premier League European Transfers, although probably not as many with money drying up thanks to Coronavirus.
Some turn out to be team changing transfers like Bruno Fernandes for Manchester Utd this season, and some don’r achieve quite so much, like a Joelinton or two.
Premier League European Transfers can be so hit and miss. With very few being superstars for their clubs or Fantasy Premier League. But this season looks a little different with perhaps more quality than quantity.
The keen Fantasy Premier League player will want to know if these players will be worth the punt, so for that reason and more we have a bunch of stats for the Premier League European Transfers.
Note that we have tried to keep up to date with the big European transfer so far, and have included a few potential ones that may still happen. We will continue to update the FPL 2020-21 Premier League European Transfers Player Stats as they come in, and remove players as they officially go elsewhere.
TOP PREMIER LEAGUE EUROPEAN TRANSFERS GOALS AND ASSIST STATS
Here are the big numbers for the big European Transfers from last season. Both Goals and Assists are measure per game.
Timo Werner looks plenty good, but so does Sancho if it happens.
Chelsea in general look to have a good trio on their hands this season.
We split this into All Comps and just the league, just to see if some perform better in the higher leagues like Champions League.
A key though here is to check whether certain players are “flat track bullies” or if they can do the job against anyone.
Since the Premier League is one of the toughest leagues in the world, let’s see who does the job when the pressure’s on.
For players in the smaller leagues, like former Ajax players, a good record against the very top sides shows a potential readiness for Premier League. Donny van der Beek’s goal record v top six sides is the top, and a good thing to argue against Ajax players being a potential worry about stepping up. Ziyech’s assists v top six sides could be used as a counter argument.
Oh, and Timo Werner scored more goals per game last season than Messi last season. Decent effort for Leipzig.
TOP PREMIER LEAGUE EUROPEAN TRANSFERS SHOTS, GOALS, KEY PASSES, ASSISTS
Ziyech is the Key Pass King. Better than Messi. He falls fractionally behind for assists, but is close enough.
Quality over quantity, or somewhere in between.

TOP PREMIER LEAGUE EUROPEAN TRANSFERS – INDIVIDUAL PLAYER STATS
JADON SANCHO
It’s an on again off again type of transfer that will no doubt end in Manchester United wasting time and money with a deal that could have been done ages ago.
Just in case he does join Man Utd, here are the stats.
19/20 FPL Equivalent Check
A little more middle of the road for both goals and assists than Werner or Ziyech.
The 0.5 assists per game is behind Bruno Fernandes and KDB only. The 0.5 goals per game is better than Jiminez.
TIMO WERNER
So we’ve been here before, someone scoring lots of goals in the Bundesliga coming to the Premier League, but Timo Werner is in a different class. just ask his former club Red Bull Leipzig who weren’t quite the same without him in the Champions League semi final.
Liverpool may live to regret handing Chelsea the International when he appeared to be so keen to join Klopp for so long.
19/20 FPL Equivalent Check
Only Sergio Aguero (0.99) scored more goals per game in the Premier League last season. So with Aguero at 10.5M and Werner at 9.5M, Werner still seem decent value, and he’s only missed 12 games in three seasons, which puts him well ahead of Aguero.
If you take his 0.5 goals per game in the Champions League he is alongside Iheanacho, Lacazette, and Chris Wood. Two Key passes per game puts him in line with the two Silvas at Man City.
Great stats, low injury rate, decent value, should start every game. Leave him out of your FPL side at your peril.
HAKIM ZIYECH
Staying with Chelsea, and with a player that could light up the Premier League in 20-21, and his stats are outstanding, and did it in the Champions League.
That Champions League form does soften one major point of doubt – Ajax players after they move on. It’s not as if many from the semi final making Ajax class from 18/19 truly kicked on at other clubs in 19/20. And not forgetting that current Brighton player Alireza Jahanbakhsh scored 21 goals and got 12 Assists from 33 Games before making the move to England.
Ziyech seems to be in a different class though.
19/20 FPL Equivalent Check
Ziyech’s 0.6 assists per game for Ajax would put him in second between De Bruyne and Bruno Fernandes, and for only 8.0M, saving plenty on those Manchester players. Not forgetting that his Champions League return was even better.
Ziyech averaged 4.4 Key Passes last season, which is almost one more per game better than KDB.
He must be considered, but one nagging doubt is about playing time in a midfield with plenty of options.
DONNY VAN DER BEEK
So Donny van der Beek has been signed instead of Jadon Sancho (to a degree) so how does he rate v Sancho? Well half as good according to our stats of goals + assists per game. Sancho gets 1.0 goals/assists per game, the same combined tally for the now former Ajax player is 0.5.
19/20 FPL Equivalent Check
His 0.4 goals per game in the Champions League and 0.2 Assists per game is level with Spurs’ stars Son and Dele Alli in 19/20.
Problem is, who is he going to knock out of the current side,
FERRAN TORRES
Good to have another Torres back in the Premier League. And we wait to see if this Spanish player is Liverpool Fernando Torres or Chelsea Fernando Torres.
Man City needed some new blood, and they have it in Ferran Torres for Valencia.
He did well in the Champions League, but not quite so in the league, and especially after La Liga resumed. Just one assist in nine games after the resumption.
19/20 FPL Equivalent Check
Using his Champions League stats of 0.3 goals and assists per game, it puts him at around the same results of Leicester’s Harvey Barnes last season. Conveniently both players start the FPL season on 7.0M.
Currently valued at 0.5 higher than Phil Foden, so it is thanks, but no thanks.
KAI HAVERTZ
The Bayer Leverkusen player is seriously being considered by Chelsea to join their ranks. And this deal looks likely to happen, so why not get in early with stats.
Havertz had done some fine work in the Europa League where he scored in four of the five games he played in and provided two assists.
His Bundesliga season got off to a slowish start, but he scored six goals and provided one assist in eight he played post lockdown for Leverkusen.
A sterner test of his skills was in the Champions League where he failed to score or provide an assist.
19/20 FPL Equivalent Check
The 0.8 goals per game is right up there with the best from season, but that was in the Europa League. His league form is slightly impressive, but was in form as the season closed.
The worry is his return in the Champions League, or that perhaps he takes a little while to get his season going.
Right now, we just think Time Werner is going to be the better bet. But as the season progresses….
RODRIGO
Leeds Utd’s big spend so far, and the second now former Valencia player on this list after Ferran Torres.
19/20 FPL Equivalent Check
His 0.3 goals and assists per game makes him a mixture of David and Bernardo Silva.
OTHER NEW ARRIVALS – DEFENDERS
While they may not have the attacking stats of the above, it is still worthwhile having a look at some new recruits at the back.
Koulibaly is included as he is a good chance of going to any one of the top Premier League clubs this summer. Most likely Man City who could do with some new faces in defense.
Kalidou Koulibaly
Koulibaly is not a prolific contributor to attack with just 14 goals and 10 assists in 380 matches. But he did score nine times over the three Serie A seasons prior to 19/20.
Six clean sheets for Napoli last season, doesn’t sound like much, but Napoli were in disarray at times last season, with the owner trying to send his players into a boot camp lockdown because of poor results.
He could be just what Man City need at the back. And they need something.
Konstantinos Tsimikas
Probably won’t play every week, or much at all behind the current Liverpool defenders, but his stats are interesting enough.
But is the 5.0M price tag going to be worth having a potential reserve Liverpool defender.
Olympiakos did have 31 clean sheets last season across multiple competitions including five in 12 Champions League matches.
